I had some study about CBA for years and I'm sure my idea is fesiable, there would be a few executive details, but it can work.

As I know, u can always trade one player for "Trade Exception", as long as the other club take it.

Diaw for the #6 pick and Trade Exception, we take no salary in return.

Barbosa for David Lee and another Trade Exception or fillers, depends on how much salary the Knicks could absorb.

It all depends on how much the Knicks want Diaw and Barbosa, and how Dolan and their new GM think about luxury tax. Please be aware, they have always been a tax paying club, even b4 Isiale's era.

Tell me how New York takes on Diaw without giving away a player.

You proposal is impossible.

The point is D'Antoni WANT DIAW very much. We want to reduce our payroll.
So it's up for bargaining.

I like that lineup....except that it'd be nice to be able to sign a legit 2 guard thru free agency. Bell needs to come off the bench and do 2 things.....defend and shoot threes. We need a 2/3 tweener that can score from anywhere on the court AND defend.
(cough)Artest(ahem).

And I can imagine the Knicks want to reduce their payroll just as much, thus making the likelihood of them wanting to take on Diaw's albatross that much more improbable.

nothing in that package combined with worth #6, or Lee for that matter. you'd have to add Barbosa and our own pick for that package there.
