The Man Called Jim Skane--a tribute to the founder of ASFN, Jim Skane

The tribute song is cheesy, but I'm cheesy, the show was kinda cheesy, and the episode and song were definitely cheesy, so I think Skkorp would have appreciated it.

Skane…
The man called Jim Skane…

He left a bad website,
And started a new one,
He did it all up right,
Now the posters have fun.
Our love for him now
Ain’t hard to explain,
He built ASFN,
The man called Jim Skane.

Jim Skane saw the posters’ keyboards were breakin’
He saw the posters’ lament
And he saw websites takin’
Fans in but givin’ them too much torment.
So he said “You can’t do that to my posters”
He said “Can’t crush them under your heel”
Skane strapped on his hat,
And in five seconds flat,
Stole every poster ‘Zona had to steal.

He left a bad website,
And started a new one,
He did it all up right,
Now the posters have fun.
Our love for him now
Ain’t hard to explain,
He built ASFN,
The man called Jim Skane.

Now here is what separates heroes
From common folk like you and I
The man called Jim Skane
Don’t know how, can’t explain,
Made a free place to post and reply.
He brought it to our houses
Internet cafes and bars
The man called Jim Skane
Took away posters’ pain
And headed out for the stars…

He left a bad website,
And started a new one,
He did it all up right,
Now the posters have fun.
Our love for him now
Ain’t hard to explain,
He built ASFN,
The man called Jim Skane.

Thank you for that. I love that. I'm sending it to the rest of the family.
Jim or as we used to call him (he hated, was Jimmy) was my big brother. Still grieving and still can't believe this world lost such a wonderful human being.
I have been reading these blogs and its nice to see he has touched so many.

Laura, it is my pleasure. Jim's done so much for us. I only had the pleasure of meeting him once, and briefly at that, but I recognize how much hard work and dedication he poured into the rest of us in making this site what it is today.
