What powers do moderators have? Can forum moderators globally ban users or is that something Chandler Mike does?
There needs to be one thread that logs all bannings (temporary and permanent). I am still wondering why WizardOfAz was banned.
Generally forums are treated as assigned areas for the Mods to make sure things flow along for posters. I'm assigned P&R where I can edit, delete, move posts or threads - but only in P&R. I have the option to either ban/permaban posters from P&R or ASFN.
CM has pretty much delegated banning to the mods.
As far as the one thread to keep posters informed thats not a bad idea.
In P&R I generally post a individual threads with the (users name as a title) to inform folks...but to also help me keep track of decisions to try and stay consistant.
As far as Wiz - he is the only poster in P&R inwhich I didn't fully inform everyone why he got permabanned. I left it as this thread: Message for the P&R folks...
In general he was tag-teaming topics by using two user accounts for quite some time. When confronted and warned about this issue - he wouldn't quit.
Even when his accounts were banned from P&R - he would try to generate political threads in EE to get moved to P&R.
Not really, he has been on here many times under different user names. He tried again last night as a matter of fact. He is an immature little punk who always suffers a "meltdown", and his posting is infuriating.
King and I just expedited the process by goading him into doing exactly what he did. I don't feel at all like we were "kicking" him, merely trying to get a ticking time-bomb to go off sooner than planned.
Besides, it was funny as hell.
