Yes, but there is more to the story.
I may only have 6 posts here (7 now), but I am no stranger to online communities. I run several, under various platforms.
All totaled, I can probably claim about a ¾ million online posts, over the past 25 years.
So, newbie here ....... but I am famous for these kinds of stories elsewhere.

Man I'm never gonna forget downloading a game (nukewar) from a tape drive...it took like a half hour!

My first computer was an Apple II (1979), followed by an Apple IIc (color).
No hard drive. Boot up was achieved with a 5½" floppy, which cost about $2.50 back then. Modem was an external 110 baud cradle type, purchased separately. Monochrome monitor and no mouse.
Compuserve was established in 1969, long before the Internet. All text data - think MS-DOS before refinements.
We even wrote our own code, in BASIC (Apple used AppleBASIC).
If I recall correctly, my first hard drive was a 1.2 MB model, and cost $399 in the early to mid-eighties, the equivalent of about $950 today.

I run boards for some large companies, two for attorneys and a pair of Christian ones. The Christian ones are mine, so no - I wouldn't be caught running anything perverse or that God might find against His Word. |
