Some Sleeper Picks for Fantasy Baseball

Chris Duffy, OF, Pirates

-- I got to watch this guy in the minors and was very impressed with what I saw. He's the type who will get you a good OBP, should have a decent BA and will get you 30-35 steals leading off for Pittsburgh.

Ryan Shealy, 1B, Royals

-- This guy has huge power potential, and will begin to show it this year in Kansas City. I see him hitting around 30 Homers, with over 100 RBIs. Don't look for him to be an OBP machine or a guy with a high BA, but if you need someone to get you home run and batting average points, Shealy is a guy you might want to keep your eye on in the late rounds.

Howie Kendrick, 2B, Angels

-- This guy is going to be an OBP and Batting Average machine. He was landlocked by Adam Kennedy, however now that Kennedy's gone, look for Kendrick to put up monster numbers in the batting average department.

Carlos Ruiz, C, Phillies

-- He should get the lions share of AB at catcher for the Phillies and he should net you about 15-20 homers, with a BA in the high 2s. Worth a look at catcher in the later rounds.

Brandon Wood SS/3B Angels- He'll make the bigs and will have a decent year IMO. Good late round pick especially in a big league

Others who I like- Homer Bailey, Delmon Young, and Alex Gordon.

Watch out for relievers turned starters Adam Wainwright, Braden Looper, and Johnathon Papelbon to make an impact. I bet one will be a good fantasy starter

Papelbon might go back as closer if no one steps up in spring training.

After Piniero blows a couple saves, Papelbon will be moved to closer. Hopefully Brandon Donnelly steps up and takes the spot. I want to see what Papelbon can do.
