Zak DeOssie ?

Hey, anybody know or hear anything about this guy ? He's a LB from Brown and has some pretty impressive numbers (6'5", 250 lbs, 4.03 short shuttle) father played for the Cowboys and I think he's on the Pats radar.

He's intelligent and can play all three LB positions. A very good role player/solid starting backer at best.

The Huddle Report.com has him rated as a second-round prospect, along with another guy that the Cards might be able to pick up in the third that I don't know much about--Steward Bradley of Nebraska.

On their draft value board, they have DeOssie as the 145th prospect (5th round) and Bradley as the 79th. Anyone see either of these guys play and have anything to say about them? THR has them both among the great sleepers in the draft.

Zak DeOssie played at Brown. He's faster than his dad, Steve, ex Giant and Patriot, but not as stout or rugged. Zak's primary value is his excellent long snapping ability. It may take him a few years to work his way into some playing time at LB...he will have some major adjusting to do to cater his game to the NFL level.

If you are in bad need of a LS, you might want to take him in the 5th...there's no way he merits a pick before that.

In their talent ranking, their scout (Drew Boylhart) ranks him as a second-round talent. On their value board (where they expect guys to be taken), he's ranked as a fifth-rounder.

Boylhart says that he looks slower than he plays because he's always in position to make the plays. I like Boylhart a lot, and he's thinking that this is a great class to pick a linebacker in. According to him, you'll find first-round value at LB into the third round of the draft.

It's true, this class is SOLID in terms of linebackers.

Hopefully, our Day 2 picks will be contributing players. I don't think Denny's Day 2 picks were that good.
