You Don't Blitz a Rookie?
Can that be the worst defensive game plan of the year? That's the final straw. Lose the coaches.

They were trying to go with the element of surprise by not sending the blitz Cutler expected jk. I agree. Horrible game plan and it is time to ax this group of coaches.

Exactly. Why doesn't Pendy blitz AW off the edge anymore. Because our
secondary gives up big plays? So what. Instead they go on 13 play drives
that eat 8 minutes off the clock. I'm not saying to blitz every play, but blizing
causes turnovers. Die a slow death or take some chances. Roll the dice.

Pendy doesn't know what he is doing. He had some fluke success his first year because he was doing weird things. Players with talent (Wilson) thrived in this situation. Once teams started getting keen to his gameplan and our lack of talent they exploited it. Now he runs a cookie cutter defense with enough odd packages to keep us interested. It's the players with skill who make the plays in this defens and those without who are exploited. Case in point: Wilson is on his way to the Pro Bowl while Rolle (who is out of position) is picked on week after week. Players like Chike, Dockett and Dansby can make plays each game, but when it comes down too it we are handed our asses.

Yes, thank you and goodbye Coaches. And please don't tell me that it will be hard to find assistant coaches next year because of a lack of turnaround. The cream rises to the top. Somebody can build this team, I'm sure of it.

Last week everyone was praising the exact same game plan. This week though, we gave up the big play and didn't force enough turnovers. Regardless, I hate this style of defense. We should be attacking. I don't we've had any team, except the Bears, back on their heels all year.

yeah, last weeks defensive game plan was great, Seattle went 80 yards in
two plays and didn't throw deep. This staff is genius. Luckily wegot a couple
of fumbles that created 10 points to win the game. Denny & Clancy suck!

The Axe man cometh and will hopefully spare us from more of this genius they dare belittle as mere coaching.
It takes a special "Genius" to never blitz a rookie QB, special in every possible way.
How bout a simple run blitz and if it's a pass, go for the QB?
Nah....
Man these guys have to work up to lame.

When we have the best blitzing secondary player in the league, who also happens to be one of the best in the box Safeties, why is he not blitzed?

Because that's what they expect us to do.
We're smarter than that, we'll just play coverage with a FS older than dirt and hope that works, that'll learn em.

I'm glad i read through all the posts beause i was getting ready to post the same thing. The thing that got me about yesterdays defense was that it looked like the Cards hadn't seen any Broncos game tape. One of their main plays is the play action reverse boot leg pass and every time it was run Cutler had about 8 seconds to throw because the entire team went with fake and lost contain. That was their play on the long TD pass. Also, it was the play where Rod Smith dropped the ball. Another time Rolle actually made a nice play(blasphemy, blasphemy) while having to cover the guy for a long time. Simms even mentioned how hard it for a CB to cover someone for that length of time. Another play they seemed un-prepared for was the fake end around that Denver ran about 12 times. Simms kept saying it was there and then they finally ran it and it was there.
