Wilson
70. Adrian Wilson, S, Arizona Cardinals
After Wilson admitted he was disappointed with his 2010 season, the accountable safety showed exactly how good a player he is in 2011. One of the premier “in-the-box safeties” around, he made a reputation rushing the passer, but it was that overstated part of his game that represented the least accomplished facet of his season. Alternatively, he ended the year with eight pass breaks up to go with an interception that helped him pick up our highest coverage grade of all safeties. Throw in some stout work in run defense and Wilson returned to being one of the league’s best, not just one of the most hyped.
Best Performance: Week 14 versus San Francisco ( +4.0)
Key Stat: Tied for second among safeties with 25 defensive stops in the run game.

Wilson deserves the respect and admiration of us Cardinal fans. He stepped up his game last season and he was the guy shedding a tear when we beat the Eagles in that championship game because he identifies himself AS A CARDINAL while Boldin mopped off the field and became everything he was not early in his career

I couldn't believe Boldin was like that. He was my personal favorite. His toughness we never replaced. He was the beginning to the turn around for us. But I was disappointed how he handled the situation.
Wish he was still here. He should of finished his career opposite of Fitz.

No one had anything good to say about him early last year. After the Washington game, when he got torched for that TD on 4th down, he would've been cut by many posters here. I certainly thought we were looking at the end of his career. But, then he had a remarkable finish to the season. It was easily his best coverage season, ever.
Horton did amazing work with all of last year's defense, but nothing was more impressive than how he get AW into the right spots.

This guy bleeds Cardinal red. And he has given us everything he has for a long time now. I hope they have already picked his spot in the Ring of Honor.

Posters have been wanting to cut Wilson for 10 years. Especially his first 3 when he drove many fans crazy with his free lancing. Wilson is a perfect example of why a team needs to keep as many of their draft picks as possible instead of trading them away or letting them leave in free agency. I guess I need to make this favorite line of mine my signature for a while: 2008 and 2009 the Cards had on their roster the most players with the most time in Arizona plus time in the NFL than at anytime since the start of free agency. In fact in 2009 they had the most veteran roster in the NFL.
Now we don't even have a dozen guys with more than 2 seasons playing for the Cards. And the crazy thing is we haven't changed Head Coaches!

Amazing how good of a year he had, since he place hurt. I couldn't imagine trying to tackle or hold onto someone with a torn bicep.

Here is a question which not many seem to ask but I think it should be mentioned now by Cardinal fans as Wilson's career is in its later years, and should be asked by those around the league...is Adrian Wilson a Hall of Fame safety? I say yes, Wilson surely is.

i was definitely one of the people who thought AW was done, but man was I ever wrong. Dude was a flat out stud the second half of the year. Can't wait to see what this defense does with another year of seasoning for the youngins and a full off-season for everyone to get the defense down pat.

Aeneas Williams isn't in and he was one of the greatest DBs of all time. So playing for Arizona is a huge obstacle. Cardinal players have a better chance 40-50 years after they finish their careers. Curtis Martin gets in and Aeneas doesn't? Unreal.

Yeah, if Aeneas had played with Dallas and San Francisco instead of Arizona and St. Louis he would've been in on the first attempt. With guys like Aikman and Irvin talking him up as the best CB they played against, I think he will get in soon.

Wilson was very good last year. I have never seen him cover like that. I also thought he was done the last fee years.

I hope so. Not too many DBs around with 55 career INTs and 12 defensive TDs, 8 Pro Bowls and 4 first team All Pro selections. Playing for a franchise that only had one winning season while he was on the Roster really hurts him. But it will really help if Aikman and Irvin keep talking him up.
One of the highlights of my career as a Cardinal fan was watching film of Aeneas after the Cards beat San Diego to make the playoffs. Awesome stuff from that locker room.
