Who will be among the six cuts announced on Sunday?

My guesses are: Joshua Rue; C. Burton; M.Young; M.Stone; J. Scobey and N. Poole.......you heard it first here.

Don't they need to cut more than 6? They are at 67 right now correct?

Anyways, I have this sense that Stone will stick as a special teams guy. I am not sure why I think this exactly but something just tells me he sticks.

Scobey is on the wrong side of the bubble right now IMO but his fate could be tied to how many WRs the cards finally decide to keep.

I agree except Rue will go on the practice squad, the coaches have said that he's their project. I think Stone will make it this year and Grace will be gone. Cutting Scobey seems like such a waste, they'll also try to put him on the practice squad.

In that case add Grace and Duncan to the list.

They must be down to 53 by the 31st. I'm not sure when the NFL Europe exemptions end.

They're at 67 with LB Burton and OT Rogers allocated to NFL Europe, meaning that they're at 56. They need to cut to 53 Sunday and can sign 6 players to the practice squad IF they don't get claimed by another team.

So they need to cut 13 players from the roster.

Correct me, if wrong...

67 includes exemption for NFLE players. So, in truth: 65

65 - 53 (final cutdown number) = 12 (to cut)

My 12:

Atoe
Burton
Diamond
Duncan
Grace
Moore
Nelson
Poole
Prentice
Rogers
Rue
Wragge

I wouldn't be surprised if Rue and Prentice make final roster. Rue made key block to spring Anderson and Prentice on long runs in preseason. I've seen Prentice down on punt coverage. Both will have to make ST contributions to make it. My surprise cut is Jason McAddley unless he has a 5 catch, long yardage or TD tomorrow night. I believe he's 0-fer pre-season so far.

WR - Boldin, Gilmore, Foster, Kasper, Johnson, Poole(?)
TE - Bush, Jones, Diamond or Banks
RB - Smith, Shipp, Anderson and Prentice
FB - Hodgins and Rue

You are forgetting that we are allowed to put 6 players on the practice squad. Also, the exemptions for the two NFLE players is only a temporary/time sensitive reprieve. It goes away shortly.

You cannot put anybody directly on the practice squad. You MUST cut them and they are available for anybody to pick up during the next 24 hours.

After that, you can sign 5 players to the practice squad who are eligible - if they agree to sign. The players are free to not sign.

But, you have to cut 14, there's no guarantee on getting them back for the practice squad.

There's going to be at least one surprise, there always is. I admit, I have no feel for it this season. Usually, I have a pretty good guess as to the "surprise" cut.

After removal of the temporary NFLE exemptions. You have to cut 12 players. Everybody in excess of 53 is out. And as SKORP pointed out; after waivers 5 or 6 can be signed to the Practice squad.

The NFL Europe exemptions go away in the cutdown to 53.
Therefore the cardinals need to get from 67 to 53 by the
31st.(14 cuts).

I still think one of them will be Raleigh Roundtree going to the
PUP list available for a three week trial after 6 weeks of the
season.

Without giving names I believe the cuts will be made this way.

Special Teams - 1 cut between Gramatica and Duncan

Defensive Line - 2 cuts
Linebackers - 1-2 cuts(depends on use on special teams)
Defensive Backs - 2 cuts

Offensive Line - 4 cuts(including Roundtree)
Running Back - 2 cuts
Fullback - 0-1 cut(Rue if they try to get him to the practice squad)
TE - 1 cut(Diamond to the practice squad)
WR - 0-1 cut(try to get one on the practice squad)

I think the last cut is between a WR and FB.

Not to be too picky.

But officially the CARDS are at 65, not 67. The two exemptions disappear with the cutdown to 53.- as pointed out.

So, officially to reach 53, they must cut 12 players.
