The point is maybe they should have offered him (or better yet, Roosevelt Colvin) more money.

We are $14MM under the salary cap. Do you think that one of the two might have signed with AZ if we threw a few more $$ at them?

We offered more money than anyone did for these guys. They just did not want to play here. You cannot force someone to sign with you.

We already offered them signifigantly more money than any other team. So once again whats your point!

The Cardinals offered the most money and these guys decided to sign somewhere else. Get over it, they didn't want to play for the Cardinals!

Every man has a price. We had $14MM more to offer.

Maybe another $5MM on top of our offers would have swayed either of them to sign.

Stop talking out of your ass.....you do not know...how much we offered....or if it was even a serious consideration.....Graves never said we offered more....it is pure speculation.....I for one believe....we nickeled and dimed the guys because the didn't" fit with what were doing here" as Mac says...and he and Graves felt they could go with a draft pick and what we had....He would have looked and performed better than anyone we currently have.....That is the Point...

It really sucks. He's going to have a good year with another team. He would have made us a lot better. Instead he is making KC a lot better. It's like the old commercial for the Peace Corps: How do we become a better team without signing some better linemen and how do you sign better linemen without becoming a better team? Were in a perpetual quandry in this regard.

Rats,

You are a complete ****ing moron!

You obviously dont follow this team or the activities it delves into in its off-season or you would know that it is a fact that we offered these guys signifigantly more money! In fact Colvins deal was worth millions more!

Stop being a moron and open your eyes!
Obviously ...I missed it....what were the amounts? Significantly more?.......Wow....how could I have missed that. We blow that bad that even though we offered "millions" more to a player with what a 3.5 year shelf life would take less to stay away from us....I think someone else needs to open there Eyes. While we may have made a huge offer to these guys I would doubt it was gaurenteed money...and that is why they went else where...I would think we offered them something like what we offered Boston....non-gaurenteed $$$....but hey ...it is signifigantly more....just not gaurenteed the player will collect. But I must be talking out of my butt...because you said it was more money..........

The Cards offered more guaranteed money but I think I read the Pats offered more total money. I cannot recall where I read that but in the big picture, guaranteed money how contracts are truly measured thus the Cards did offer more.

The Cards could have offered up all their remaing cap space and I don't believe it would have mattered. I think Colvin chose a team that would get him a ring (he didn't count on Milloy getting canned and being shutout week 1). Holliday was all for the money IMO, but he didn't want to play for the Cards...and no amount of money was going to sign him.
