-- ESPN.com's Mike Sando dug out this gem, that rookie Tim Hightower not only has a league-high 10 rushing attempts on either third-and-1 or fourth-and-1, but he has also converted every time. He's the only guy with at least six such attempts who is perfect. I think it says something about the offensive line, too, but obviously it speaks volumes about Hightower, who GM Rod Graves called the "joy of the draft class."

Great to have a draft where the guys not only stay on the team but are very productive for rookies. Where we don't have to excuse their performance because its only their first season and hope they're going to get better.

Have we been stopped on 3rd & short when Tim gets the ball?? It used to kill me (& Cardinal drives) to be faced with 3rd & 2 and come up a 1/2 yard short ...AND THEN pansy out and not go on 4th down. Well, NOW we get those crucial yards and we also know that Whiz' will go for it on 4th down. Yeah, I haven't forgotten Washington but I think he learned from that one.

Why can't the o-line block this well on first & 10???

Yup. there are holes that are there at times that Edge just doesnt get to quickly enough. No burst!
I completely agree. I love Edge and I love his effort out there but there really is no denying that Hightower has a better burst and gets to his top speed much faster than Edge.
I remember that the coaching staff compared him to Marion Barber when he was drafted. I thought that they were just trying to build him up and sell him to the fan base because no one else had ever heard of the guy. I have to say that he has shown an ability to get to the hole and burst through quickly. On at least two plays this season he has shown that he can get to his top speed and get away from the front seven. So far he has outperformed most fifth round picks that we have ever had.
letting Dansby go and signing Q to a big extension will just be repeating the Jamir Miller/prioritization of Rob Moore fiasco from a decade ago. Why we would once again put all of our money into a WR starting to get up in years with a history of injuries while letting the best/youngest player on the D, who plays hurt and is the leader of the Defense? That made no sense then and it will make no sense now.
you just can't let your best YOUNG/PROVEN talent leave.
