Get over it we didn't draft AP and can't change it now. Many people thought Levi was the right pick in hindsight clearly AP was but thats how it goes can't dwell on it.

The scouting report in my paper for the game today said "the Jets will blitz Kurt Warner early and often. They think if you hit him he'll throw picks and fumble."

Talk about prescient.

ANd I would assume the Jets looked at our protections and decided Levi was the weak link and went after him.

No need to be sorry.

He didn't play well. There is no defending it and he is not an elite all pro tackle either. But, I have no problem having a difference in opinion that the guys is a bust, since I am not going to label him that.....yet.

What to do with him? Who knows. I never understood why Wells wasn't kept at tackle. His size? I never understood that as well, since we are far from a running team.

Furthermore, the talk of needing to draft another tackle might be unnessicary. The is hope of Brandon Keith having a lot of promise.

But I will say it again, must we complain about AP everytime we lose. It didn't happen. Get over it........well try. I should not be such a hypocrite (as my wife just said) since some of use have still not gotten over passing on Terrell Suggs.

That's what you get when you have the front office we have and draft for need to replace a pro-bowler you didn't want to sign and let him walk away for nothing. That's my point. It's not just that we passed on AP,it's that we forced our hand because we didn't re-sign LD. Any legit FO man could see that his team would be better with LD and AP than Brown. That doesn't take any kind of brilliant talent scout to see that.

did I say a word about AP? no. Levi sucks with or without us having passed on what looks like a future HOFer.

truth be told, I'm really not over it, but I don't talk about AP all that much. The only thing that will get me over it is when the problem is corrected and by problem, I mean the guy who's calling the shots at the top of the FO, the guy who oversaw two first round picks in 2003 (Pace and BJ at 17th and 18th) contribute nothing and are already off the team, saw our 2005 (Rolle at 8th pick) draft pick contribute nothing at either position he's played in and is probably on his way off the team after this season, saw our 2006 draft pick (Matt at 10th) contribute nothing so far and has seen our 2007 draft pick (Levi at 5) just suck out loud so far.

But, my position on Graves is pretty well known. Once he's gone, all past sins can be forgotten as far as I'm concerned, that is, unless we hire someone else as incompetent as he is (which is entirely possible).

Honestly, I wasn't complaining that we didn't get AP.... I was merely making the point that a ton of talent was drafted after him that is performing at a much higher level.

In fact..... I supported the pick when it happened. Even though it was clearly a reach. But I will not allow my past feelings allow me to support or even defend him now.

The dude sucks.

I think it's one thing to get over the mistake of not drafting AP, and another for so many (up until today, it seems) to cling to the idea that Brown was still the right pick despite AP being on the board (and winning ROY and being the best back in the game every time he steps on the field).

I think Brown is going to be a fine RT in the NFL. I think AP is going to be a legendary RB in the NFL.

JMHO.

You are correct sir. You certainly did not.

Ugh....must you bring up the Cardinal first round draft picks? It hurts to read them off.

Maybe we should start trading down for two are three picks in the second or third.

i don't know about "many." certainly don't count me in that mob of talent-misevaluating misfits. not only did i pan the team for NOT drafting AP, but i thought brown was an awful reach and i have thought him to be awful (not only for his draft position, but as a starting nfl tackle) for most of his tenure here. you can say "can't dwell on it" all you want, but if someone doesn't eventually dwell on it we'll continue to have draft busts after draft busts after draft busts b/c we don't learn from our mistakes . . . like trusting in rod.
