Broncos | Targeting QB with No. 15 overall pick
Tue, 21 Mar 2006 16:35:07 -0800
ESPNews reports the Denver Broncos are expected to target a quarterback after acquiring the No. 15 overall pick from the Atlanta Falcons in a three-team deal.
Sounds like they've finally figured it out.

They'll take a runningback unless Cutler is there

Do I detect a quick note of sarcasm in that voice?

Who the heck could they be targeting??
Leinart, Young and Cutler will all probably be gone.
Are they going to make a huge reach and take Croyle??

Only way Denver gets one of the top QB's is if they trade up again into the Top 10. I know a way:
Cards trade #10 and #42 (worth 1780 value points) for Denver's #15 and #22 (worth 1830).
Denver would presumably draft Cutler or Young.
We would then use our #15 and #22 to lock up Bunkley and Jean-Gilles (or Mangold or M McNeal) and would still have our 3rd round pick (#71) to draft a pretty good TE, LB, S or QBOF.
Or not.

I'd prefer to stay at #10....we'll either get a D Playmaker or a good look at a QBOF.
However, if we did get the 15 and 22 picks.....I'd go with Sims/Ryans, then McNeill/Scott with the next pick.
2nd round I'd take M. Lewis....if he's not there....here is where the myth of Dennis could work out....would he take a troubled kid like Wroten??

If Young slid that far they'd take him becaues he fits their move the pocket offense. But beyond that I don't see any way they can get Leinart or even Cutler at 15. Maybe they want to combine the 2 higher #1's they now have for an even higher 1 that will get them a QB?
Their fans are convinced they want 2 DL's or a DL and the best WR on the board or DeAngelo Williams. The fans seem to love Kiwi and Bunkley.

Just checked Broncosfreak, looks like the rumor is bunk. The rumor posted there says they're packing the 2 picks to move up to #7 and take Cutler or young. But as one astute fan pointed out, #7 is Oakland, owned by Al Davis, who hates Mike Shanahan to his soul(and vice versa). No way in hell Oakland and Denver would make a deal.
They do say if Denver came up it would be for Vernon Davis or Mario Williams.

Hard to believe that this will be Plummer's 10th NFL season.
Doesn't really seem that long ago that we had the first Cards Corner get together at the Cards draft party at Rockin' Rodeo. But it was 1997 the year they drafted Jake.
Aside to Skkorp: That was where I first met Pdonaldo(Don).

I'd pee myself if we did that (in a good way). Bunkley, Jean-Gilles and Gradkowski would be an excellent 1st day, IMO.

BTW, if Denver stays at 15, I think the pick is either LenDale White or Pope.

I would rather go Bunkley/Mangold over Giles, but to each his own.
