Sporting News: Manning vs. Roethlisberger

My most recent installment of the DBR newsletter (the Draft Ben Roethlisberger newsletter, that is)...

I just picked up the Sporting News Pro Foot Ball Draft magazine. It has an interesting article dedicated to the top-two QBs in the draft, grading Roethlisberger higher in "arm strength" and "running ability," and giving Big Ben an overall advantage. Manning had higher marks in "field vision" and "intangibles." They were graded evenly on "accuracy/delivery."

Here's what another part of the publication said regarding the combine:

Quote:
"Every NFL official we talked with who interviewed both Roethlisberger and Mississipi QB Eli Manning said Manning did fine but Roethlisberger blew them away with how well he handled the process."
Seems like you hear people compare Roethlisberger quite a bit to Leaf in his bust potential. I think this quote alone should quiet those arguments. Plus, elseware in the magazine, it refers to Big Ben as a "model leader and competitor. [Roethlisberger] is tough and and has handled the pressure of carrying his team." Cryin' Leaf he is not.

"No way he's going to be a bust," or "No Way. He's Ryan Leaf waiting to happen and will bust."?

You could read your post either way, so I just want to be clear before I lay into you.

If his name were Ben Marino, or Ben Montano, or Ben Elway, then who would be the best QB?????? Ben or Eli?

I think he will be better than Manning in the long term career category. Hows that?
