Some Edge Comments From Miami
Catchin' up with Edge
01/31/2007 02:09 PM
MIAMI -- Cardinals running back Edgerrin James is starting to surface at different spots. While touring the NFL Experience, I caught him on the phone for five minutes.
Q: As an NFL player, how difficult is it being down here among all the hoopla, knowing you're not going to play Sunday?
A: It's been like this every year. It's no surprise. It's nothing you haven't seen before. I've been here six, eight years, it's always the same. Everybody wants to play in the Super Bowl but only two teams get the chance.
Q: How close are the Cardinals to making it?
A: We're loaded with talent, but when you make so many changes, it's hard to give yourself a chance. The Colts have one system and they've stuck with it -- and these are the end results.
Q: How do you feel about your old team playing in the Super Bowl?
A: Those are my boys. I'm happy for them. We've been hanging out this week. Ain't nothing changed.
Q: Is it true you don't have your own place in Arizona?
A: I live at the Cardinals facility. That's my address. I don't have nothing to do but work. That's all I want to do.

Upset with the Green firing???? This kind of shows it was because of Green he came here. For some reason i think he is just going through the motions. Is he really a leader on this team? From the comments over the season and this off-season leads you to believe hes here bc hes here not because he wants to be here. I think he is regreting the decision of signing with Arizona. What do i know though this is just my opinion.

Or, he could be referring to the buttload of changes we made during the season, right?
Man, are people just wanting to find trouble? Do we really miss Simeon Rice THAT much?

Did Edge have a house in Indy, or did he do the same as in AZ there, too?

I don't think anyone would be complaining about the DG firing after the bonehead inconsistency that he brought on this team...how could Edge NOT be looking forward to the changes that are NOW made with the new coaching staff (i.e. Grimm) that just may be what he needs to get back in the limelight again? Smashmouth football... does that not lead to consistent # of carries for a premier RB? If he feels he is still considered one, he should be elated with the coaching changes

Is it just me or did he not sound to enthusiastic about the recent changes? I took it as hey DG had another year and now because of all the new changes this year is a wasted year.
I was personally glad he got fired, but idk it just seems edge might not feel the same way. I think he liked Denny and didnt want to see him go.

i think that he liked denny's laid-back style. If you remember, edge did very little in camp and ran the ball less than 10 times in the preseason. Wizz aint havin that. The steelers are known for tough camps and wizz will follow in those footsteps. Edge can feel the pain and sweat coming on now and i dont think he is overly exited about it.

So hopefully the Cards can get A.P. in by camp. Edge will miss the carries in preseason and it will help A.P!!
