Security on Sunday
Just got a my monthly courtesy call from the Cardinals. They told me that they will be testing out wands at a couple of the security gates to see if that improves the flow of traffic into the stadium. The theory is that wands are faster than pat-downs. Sure they are, until the first guy forgets about that change in his pocket...
Apparently the NFL tried tried to roll out wands exclusively at Green Bay for the last Packers' home game and it did not go real well.
I would be really curious to hear how it goes from anyone who experiences it.

They used wands in St Louis this past Sunday. It took forever to get in the dome.

Personally, I think anyone wearing a Cowboys, Raiders, Niners, Seahawks, Rams, or Steelers jersey should be profiled and selected for a full body cavity search. I mean, they have practically self-identified as terrorists already...

It went pretty quick in our line. Maybe they knew all you guys in section 139 were going to be a problem (I blame Wisconsin for that) .

Got the call from the Cards today explaining that wands would be used. I asked if I would get in any trouble for asking "Is that a wand in your hand or are you just happy to see me?" and the guy on the phone couldn't stop laughing.

Nope....the pat downs are a joke and only serve to slow down the entrance process complicating it with a "wand" is just plain dumb.
And a question for guys/gals that wear ball caps to the the game.....what exactly are they looking for when they make you take them off at the pat down? I would think that anything of substance stuffed into a ball cap would make it look right funky sitting on your head.

Why did I know that was coming. I got in pretty quickly but hey I got an honest face...
There was a short line where there were only women in it, so I figured that was a womens only line. The wife went over to that one and someone told her is that your husband wearing the "GRIZZ" jersey she said get him over here they use wands and ther is no female/male only lines. So I got in the express lane.

I think they checked us pretty good because of the women. They were looking at our 3 ugly mugs and wondering how we got 3 hot chicks to go to the game with us.

More often than not I would go into the game with my pocket knife in my pocket (5" blade) and my friend took two bottles of beer (glass bottles to boot) inside a couple years ago....Me: "Hey Oscar, how did you get those in here?"
Oscar: (holding our arms with one bottle in each hand) "Like this."

I always carry a pocket knife (4" blade). Legally you are allowed to carry these concealed on your person. Would security wand you and then try to take a pocket knife?

I can tell you about about 3,000 people on 9-11-01 that wouldnt have consider it a hassle. Sadly, safety will come at an inconvience.
