barring some kind of 1988 meltdown (basically meaning our QB gets killed), there's NO EXCUSE this team shouldn't host a playoff game considering a) this team actually is (yes, brace yourself) a good team and b) how pathetic our division is. Even 8-8 should win our division. We should finish better than that.
big W today. Man, I was just watching ESPN and it was the baseball segment and at the end John Butchygrass turned to John Kruk and completely out of the blue said "man, did you see that Cards v. Cowboys game".
We've arrived damnit. We've arrived.

Also, who cares how bad the division is if we keep getting impressive and convincing wins like these... gotta win on the road though.

Damnit Cheese, I was doing my best not to start thinking this way cause this team has broken my heart so many times. But if you are already thinking this, and you are about the biggest realist on this board, well I guess I can finally give in.
But with one blocked punt return for a touchdown, the Cardinals delivered a jolt of reality. Arizona won the game 30-24, and any other result would've been a crime after watching the Cardinals dominate the second half.
...
Romo somehow always ends up with 300 yards and three touchdowns, but don't be fooled by those numbers -- or his 113.3 passer rating. He fumbled the ball three times, and was fortunate to lose only one. The only thing that prevented him from giving up a touchdown in the first half was the tuck rule, which makes less sense every time I see it called.
In fairness to Romo, his Pro Bowl-laden offensive line was dominated by the Cardinals' defensive line. Left tackle Flozell Adams offered little resistance as defensive ends Bertrand Berry and Antonio Smith raced past him. I've documented almost every Romo start since 2006, and I've never seen him take that much punishment.
...
Romo showed up to his news conference with a heavily bandaged right throwing hand. According to the Cowboys, he sprained his right pinky finger. And considering the punishment he took Sunday, he may have gotten off easy. Romo made an interesting statement when asked about the constant pressure he faced.

Winners
... • The Arizona Cardinals
They needed a statement game and they got it with Sean Morey’s punt block and Monty Beisel’s touchdown to beat the Dallas Cowboys 30-24 in overtime. Kurt Warner has been steady, the defense has been opportunistic and the wide receivers have weathered the loss of Anquan Boldin. The bottom line: the Cardinals have finally shown they are capable of being a factor in the NFC.
...
Losers • The Cowboys defense
There’s so much talent, and yet this unit just can’t seem to dominate an opponent. This unit should be better – period. • Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt
Say what you want about winning the game over the Cowboys, but Whisenhunt showed us yet another example of why icing the kicker with a timeout is an archaic strategy. Whisenhunt called a timeout that nullified a blocked kick that would have sealed a win for the Cardinals on Sunday. Dallas’ Nick Folk responded by nailing his second shot at a 52-yarder, and sent the game to overtime, before the Cardinals eventually went on to win. Someone is going to have to show me some evidence that proves “icing” actually works in the NFL. To me, it just looks like a desperate and unproven tactic. Play the game and live with the results.
(I agree with his comments... it really is a stupid concept)

Steve Mariucci also said the Cardinals should win the NFC West, thus getting a home playoff game. It's hard to argue on a weekend when the Seahawks looked horrible at home against a mediocre Packers team, and the 49ers lost at home to the Eagles.

FTFH
Might I add the Cowboys as a team fumbled the ball FIVE times, and Romo should have been picked off once by Rolle.
The Cowboys were VERY VERY lucky to be in that game at the end, IMO
