Rodgers-Cromartie a work-out wonder?

I haven't seen a solid football play as of yet by Rodgers-Cromartie and am very much questioning the pick. I'll give the kid the benefit of the doubt, but am very suspect on his play to date.

When Hood when out with the injury I was very worried the Cowboys would pick him apart. I would have hoped to see some flashes by now

He didnt start playing football til late in his high school career.. He played in a very very small school, didn't have the greatest competition or the greatest coaches.. Cut him some slack. He's got all the tools he needs to be a successful DB in this league. Nobody said it'd happen overnight.

Which is why he isnt a starter just yet. CBs are much like QBs; they have to be groomed before they are ready to take center stage. He has some upside to him. For instance, he is a hard hitter for a kid who is scrony and runs a 4.2 40. He will get better and perhaps be the #2 behind Hood next season when we give Green his walking papers.

Have faith

Way to soon to give up on him. Gotta give him time to develop.

There were a boat load of good CBs in this year's draft. No one has really emerged as stellar so far.

He was actually covering TO for a good chunk of the 4th quarter. Give him some slack, he's a rookie.

Did we not just beat a team with one of the best WR's in the game?

The kid came out of college with the label "RAW TALENT" tatooed on his fore head.

He is not even starting yet, and we are only SIX GAMES into the season.

I would cut the kid a little slack. I think he has played pretty well for a rookie.

I go by what the players say and some said ,i think it was mainly Hood, that DRC was going to be a star. THe players know who can play and who has the talent. Give him some time.

I'm not so sure on that. Depends on whether Eric wants to stay as a modestly-paid nickle CB. It hurts him that he brings nothing on special teams.

CB is one of the most difficult positions for a rookie to learn.

We all knew it would take time for this kid to adjust to the NFL level of play. He came for a tiny college and hasn't faced elite competition. I'll reserve any judgment on his abilities until at least the start of next year.

The kid has made a few great plays already. rmember him knocking the TE for the Saints out cold? He also deflected a TD pass a week or two ago. We knew the guy was super raw and would take while. Relax yourself, it will be OK.

How did TO look when DRC was covering him in the fourth quarter?

I'd be cool with drafting another CB in the first next year. I don;t think DRC is going to be a bust, but I also don't think he's going to be the next Deion Sanders.

I think we'll actually be able to truly draft the BPA next year. CB, ILB, OLB, NT, DE, OT, G, RB, QB, WR...come what may. There isn't a position where we can't get better, and there isn't a position where we're completely desperate.

I hope a decent FS is acquired next year.
