Question about Parsons

Preston Parsons played at NAU, right? Now, if I am correct, NAU is the school that lost the other night to Florida Atlantic University ( my Alma Mater , thank you). FAU is only in it's 3rd year of existence, so no one pays much attention to them, given our local team is U of Miami. F A U is considered to be playing low level ball, comparatively speaking. I am not knocking N A U or F A U, but it seems like a quantum leap to the pros for a guy like Parsons. Was the Parsons led N A U team a great team or similar to the team that got destroyed by F A U. I'm guessing Parsons must be overwhelmed. Get me ready for this one if Parsons is an heir apparent candidate to be THE Cardinal QB.

First off, as a NAU alum - you suck . And congrats on a good game.

Second - Parsons did have a good senior year - probably better than McNown (except McNown's Sam Houston team beat Parson's NAU 34-31 in the playoffs. McNown had a great combine, Parsons not so good.

Third - Steve McNair played I-AA ball (Alcorn St), as did Kurt Warner (Northern Iowa) - both good QB's.

Wally. Here's the deal. Once you've decided to bring in a guy, the school he went to or how well he did in college or Arena is no longer important.

All that matters is how well he does for you in practice or in games.

Parsons has been around here for 2 or 3 years. Some of us were impressed with how he performed in one quarter of late preseason play this year. Many of us are curious to see whether he could do the same thing again if given the chance. (If so, we may really have something because he really lit up the house and energized the offense during that one quarter of play).

Whether he went to NAU or Miami (FL) has nothing to do with nothing. He's ours. Let's see what he can do.

I am guessing that unless McCown completely falls flat on his face, Parsons won't sniff the field. I think the Cards are going to really test McCown from here on out and move in draft based on how this three game tryout goes.

However, if McCown struggles...a real possibility...Parsons may get his shot at starting.

No way. Parsons had a good senior year, but McCown had a phenomenal senior year. 32 tds....

Thanks Jon. The emabarassment is we are the OWLS. OOOh. Isn't that scary ? I fell asleep in the second half. Didn't even see the second half. Heard the final score next day on ESPN. Nice facility up there. Colgate is next down here, on the same field I played High School ball on. Domed stadium on campus isn't ready yet. At least they could be Fighting Owls or Vicious Owls.

Thanks for the info on Parsons.
