Pitiful: Manning, 49ers "secretly play" rival Cardinals bad.
All we heard all week in the national media since Peytons visit was that Cardinals chances were slim only because of the "NFC" part as Peyton wants to stay in the AFC. Then today we hear not only was that not true but Peyton's camp has told the Cardinals (with their dome, Larry Fitzgerald, etc.) they are out of the running while now "secretly entertaining" the division rival 49ers.
Wow the Cardinals were played real bad. I love the Cardinals and hope they have a Plan B as if SF lands Manning the NFC West is easily theirs for the next 2-3 years. Just the fact Peyton chose to close the door on the Cardinals while keeping the door to the 49ers "open" should be a personal chaepshot to the entire Cardinals organization.
My vent is over, looking forward to seeing Kevin Kolb's development after a full off-season of OTAs, minicamps and training camp.

Whatever, I'll say it.
If he ends up there I hope we end his career like we did with Steve Young.

Think of it this way, if Manning winds up a Niner, our guys will get 2 shots to beat him each season.
Never forget.

I just told my co-worker who's a Niners fan the same exact thing.
the freaking Cardinals... always the bridesmaid... never the bride.

I don't see the issue here. Did MANNING HIMSELF ever say that he wasn't interested in the NFC? No. Perhaps he preferred the AFC. But that doesn't mean he was completely willing to say no to the NFC.
He's one of the best QB's ever and is just looking at all of his options. I don't see anything wrong with that. And let's be honest, the 49ers last year were a legit QB away from winning it all. So considering them - when they decided to show interest - is a wise move.

What's kind of funnier now though is York's tweet earlier in the week when he said he was having a "Former Pro Bowl Colt QB" throw to Moss speaking about Harbaugh. All the while he was planning on working out Manning secretly 24 hours later. That was freaking dirty.

Does anybody believe that Tom Condon would throw one of his clients under the bus in favour of the other?
Don't know his thinking, but suspect a bit of orchestration on his part.
Creates a bidding war between Tenn and Denver for PM and forces SF hand on Smith.

This happens all the time in recruiting. It just so happens that franchise NFL QB's are seldomly in this situation and as fans this is different than just any other free agent walking to another team.
it is all about being competitive and showing peyton why he should play for your team. obviously cardinals fans are going to be disappointed if he plays for SF. I'm actually shocked that no one "saw" this coming because SF made the most sense of any NFC team that I could think of at first. they were perhaps a QB away from playing in the SB last year.

I would be more interested to hear what larry thinks, but something tells me he wouldn't be upset because he is pretty stable mentally.
