Cards Draft
I didn’t try to come up with the best-case scenario for the Cards, but rather something I thought was pretty realistic. I just have a feeling our Warroom isn’t going to be hitting on all cylinders this year as maybe the Bidwills and Graves try to stretch their legs a bit without DG in the room. That’s nothing but a gut feeling, but I’m going with it on this mock.
Joe Thomas, OT - I think Thomas WILL be there for the Cards as the “sexier” picks come off the board first. A fortuitous intersection of need and BPA.
Quentin Moses, DE – A CB such as Eric Wright out of UNLV is likely very tempting here, but I think Moses could tempt the ex-steeler coaches and Pendy because of his versatility: he could move to LB in a 3-4 or be effective as a down lineman in the 4-3.
Tanard Jackson, CB – The Cards get into a bit of bind by not taking a LB or CB in the second. Both are areas of need, but I think we’ll see a lot of LBs come off the board in the second, so the best intersection of need and BPA here is CB.
Rory Johnson, OLB – A reach? Maybe, maybe not. The Cards need a SAM, and Johnson is definitely more of a WIL ‘backer, but as a WIL I think he's a good pick here. Again, the Cards get stuck with a slight reach because of the “luxury” pick of a DE in the second.
Matt Spaeth, TE – Not an exciting pass-catcher, but efficient. Good size and a decent blocker. IMO, a nice compliment to Pope and the running game.
To NE (B. Gorin) – was it the 6th or the 7th? I forget…
Brandon Frye, OT – Insurance.

Good job. I especially like the first round picks until you have Greg Olson to the Dolphins. IMO, there is no way Olson goes before LeRon Landry and Okoye.

I think some teams will downgrade Landry simply because of his position based on their needs (though granted, the Dolphins could use him) and Okoye's youth will cause some teams to pass on him, IMO.
There are always a couple of head scratchers on day one.

Why would the Rams take Ginn? They still have Holt and Bruce, and just signed Drew Bennett and Randy McMichael to free agent contracts.
The Rams will likely take a Jamal Anderson-type guy that falls, maybe Patrick Willis if he drops (Tinoisimoa is slow coming off injury), or look at cornerback. The chance that they'd take a WR in the first round is remarkably small.
EDIT: and there's no chance that the Falcons pass on Landry if he's on the board when they pick. He's the entire reason they traded up with the Texans.
Neither Holt nor Bruce are spring chickens. Good teams don't pass on talent simply because they have a couple of relatively old guys at the position already.

Joe Thomas is really the only pick I agree with. Moses is a definite reach at #38, I would rather go with Woodley, Tanard Jackson is too unproven for me I would rather go LB with Rufus Alexander.

Maybe.
What's the problem with that reasoning? Yours is better--they have one wr on the down-side of his career and another that should probably retire? That doesn't sound to me like they're set at the position.

Torry Holt is on the downside of his career? Are you totally insane? And they signed two other receiving threats in this free agency period.
