Scalpers will still ruin the average fan and non season ticket holder.

NFL cutting Playoff Ticket Prices

From profootballtalk.com;

NFL CUTTING PRICES OF PLAYOFF TICKETS
Posted by Mike Florio on November 12, 2008, 3:04 p.m.
NFL spokesman Greg Aiello has informed us that, in light of the current economic climate, the face value for playoff tickets will be lower this year than they were a season ago.

Per Aiello, the average prices of playoff tickets will reflect an approximate reduction of 10 percent over last year.

Commissioner Roger Goodell recently sent playoff pricing guidelines to all contending teams. For the first time, teams will be authorized to charge less for wild-card games than for the divisional round. Typically, tickets for those two rounds have been priced the same.

Final prices will depend upon the teams hosting playoffs games. Last year, the average cost for a playoff ticket (including wild-card, divisional, and conference championship games) was $121.

If you haven't already - start saving some money for your playoff tickets. If we win another couple games they will automatically send out the tickets (usually for two home games whether we would even realistically host two games or not).

Yeah, I already had started an ING subaccount for next season, but it looks like I will have to dip there for playoff tickets. Good problem to have I guess.

I have been saving all season for playoff tix and air fare. Hopefully I will get to see my first game in the new stadium this year.

Goodell gets it. That said, I doubt our playoff game(s) will be sold out, given the current economic environment, unless the Cardinals are very careful and restrained in their ticket pricing.

A number of other teams are going to have the same problem this year.

It would be a shame if our first home playoff game was blacked out locally.

Cards don't set the ticket prices, Skkorp. The league does.

Skkorp is right.

Commissioner Roger Goodell recently sent ticket pricing guidelines to all playoff contending clubs, which then set their own individual prices.

Clubs will announce their specific playoff ticket prices and distribution plans in the near future. Prices differ from market to market depending on the price of their tickets for the season.

Playoff games ALWAYS sell out. That said, after the '98 season, I got my tickets to the Cowboys game straight from the Cowboys ticket office (Dallas fans had become complacent). But even that game finally sold out and had the blackout lifted (the NFL had to extend the deadline 54 hours). But any of you who don't want to buy your tickets, just let me know, and I'll take them off your hands at face value. Any takers? Anyone? Anyone? Adamle? Adamowski? Adams?

On a separate note, when I told my dad about this, I suggested that this was why the Cardinals spent so many years in futility. They were waiting for playoff ticket prices to go down.

Skkorp, I'm still waiting on my cap from our first sellout wager. Do you want to double or nothing?
