I have to agree. History has shown us that when the Cards make their first pick, it's like the kiss of death for that player.

I'm not talking body style wise, I am talking top 10 bust wise.

Adams or Russell, I can't choose.

Then why doesn't Branch remind you of Ryan Leaf? Or KiJana Carter?

I don't think there are a lot of questions about Branch's commitment to the game or interest in playing football. He comes out of a program with a strong history of producing good players.

There were flags about Wendell Bryant (coming from Wisconsin, being a 'tweener), but when he was taken it was generally considered a good pick.

Becuase Leaf or Carter were not DT's. Bryant was. And there are questions about Branch, about work ethic and he's one dimensional. He's great against the run not so great against the pass. It was the passing game that hurt us the most last year. We need someone who can get to the QB to take pressure off of the CB's.

If you want a DT Okoye is the better of the two DT's IMO.

I agree about Okoye. But he compares better to Wendell Bryant... for what it's worth...

Not sure if he's top 10, but I now he's a 1st round pic:

Dwayne Jarrett
