More rumors
Saw this on another site, the Vikings asking price for MOss is 2 first round picks, or 1 and a starter. Based on early feedback the most likely deal is Philip Buchanon and the Raiders #1 pick, 7th overall for Moss. Jax inquired but said no thanks to the asking price.
Joe Gibbs intends to resign Smoot, restructure Chris Samuels, and hopes to trade WR Rod Gardner. didn't say what the asking price was but I assume they want to move Gardner to free up caproom for Smoot?

Garnder requested a trade, so the split seems to be mutual.

They have intended to resign him since the beginning of the season and Smoot has shot down every contract thrown his way including one that would pay him as a top 10 CB. IMO Smoot will test FA.

I wonder if BJ and our #1 would get it done? I'd do it in a heartbeat. Don't want to trade any of our defensive talent, though...maybe Davis and our #1.

Moss to the raiders sounds perfect, so raideresque. The WR spot on the Cards is fine IMO, plenty other positions are much weaker.

Sorry I left out the key word DEFENSIVE starter in my post. They want defense and a pick or 2 first round picks.

Then I will cheefully give them Russell Davis or Starks and a 1st. No problems. Anyone else...no way. Well, okay, Ohalete, but he may not even be the starter. Okay, Zellner too, come to think of it. But those are the only ones I'd consider.

Might as well throw in Wendel and Ray Thompson.

I have read a few times on this board that Michael Stone should be a starter in this league. Welcome to Minnesota, Senor Stone.

I think the source on the asking price for Moss is an article on Jacksonville.com. The article is quoted as saying " Owner Wayne Weaver said Tuesday that the team would not be willing to meet the Minnesota Vikings' asking price for the mercurial wide receiver, which reports say is two first-round draft picks or a first-round pick and a current starter."
ProFootballTalk.com said last week that the Raiders offered Buchanon for Moss straight up during the season, but the Vikings declined. Most Moss to the Raiders rumors thus include Buhchanon.
On Gardner, a Len Pasquerelli Article states "The agent for Rod Gardner confirmed to ESPN.com on Saturday that the Washington Redskins have granted him permission to seek a trade for the veteran wide receiver. Washington is believed to want a second-round choice in the 2005 draft in return for Gardner, who was the Redskins' first-round pick in 2001. One team that has already been whispered to have some interest in Gardner is Tampa Bay, which intends to upgrade its wide receiver corps."
But the Bucs are interested in a lot of receivers, with Jerry Porter being at the top of their wish list.

If MN does not want Moss then I do not want him. We have two many receivers as it is and to many other holes to fill. Until we find a QB who can get the ball to any receiver we will eat dirt. OB,RB,and OL way ahead of any receiver available.
