Monday Night Football.

Just when you thought there's nothing better than MNF!

NFL | To Schedule Two Monday Night Football Games? - from www.KFFL.com
Sun, 4 Jul 2004 09:21:16 -0700

Jeff Duncan, of the New Orleans Times-Picayune, reports NFL Commissioner Paul Tagliabue said the league is considering the idea of scheduling two Monday Night Football games in the future and selecting the better one to televise nationally. "We could start out with a single game on Monday night in the schedule and go to two games scheduled on Monday night later in the season, when the uncertainties are bigger," Tagliabue told the Los Angeles Times. "So there would be a lot of ways to do it. That's a priority, and it's also a priority for Sunday night as well."

I hope we never play a Monday night game at home, even in the new stadium. Monday night means 2 hours fighting traffic on the 101 and no tail gating and getting home after midnight.

I'd much rather host the ESPN Sunday evening games because traffic would be light, they start earlier and we could still tailgate.

I really can't remember the last time the Cardinals did well in a nationally televised game. I don't look forward to any we might have with a great deal of anticipation.

When we get nationally televised again, it'll be because we have a good team. I'll take that anyday. The hassle of going to maybe two games (at the most in one season at home) is not a big deal.

40,

I think the last nationally televised game, at home, was the one against Dallas in 02. We won on a late TD, Plummer to Sanders. The score was in the 30s. The last national televised game we played in was the one late in that same season at St. Louis. That was the one we made the comeback in and then the coaching staff (with help from our players) blew it late.
