you can catch the '84 Cards-Dolphins at Busch on Tuesday monrning at
7:00 am (Central) on ESPN Classic. Lomax and Marino light it up and if my
memory is correct the Cards lost 42-34. 1984 was such a magical season on
offense, if O'Donohue would have just made that last second FG against the
Skins'...who knows what would have happened? That kick cost the Cards
a division championship and a home playoff game. What if?
I don't think that Hanifan had any timeouts left, and O'Donahue had to run on the field and make a 40 plus yard field goal. I remember watching it as a boy.

I was at the game. The Cardinals were lucky they got the kick off & it was a 50 yarder. The Cardinals got royally screwed when the refs called a pass interference call on 4th & 25 that kept the Skins last drive alive. Lomax torched the Skins that day after they trailed 21-3. Probably the most painful Cardinal loss I've experienced in my 40+ years as a fan.

Lomax was such a stud when the Cards were in St. Louis. It is a shame he never played for a team that made a run in the playoffs, because many do not realize how this man could throw the football. When he and Green were having big seasons was about the most exciting Cardinals football we have seen in a long time.

Same here (Except for the 40+years ), I was 10 when that game happened, I cried and screamed how much I hated O'Danaghue! That guy was terrible in my eyes, I can hardly remeber him ever getting a kick off inside the 20...
My whole family huddled around TV to watch that game and we were all devastated!
Still painful

When I play rock, paper, scissors, I keep a glass of water in my hand and when my opponent throws down I throw the water in his face and say "Water". Beats all three, scissors can't cut-it, paper dissolves and the rock sinks. Plus it usually surprises the hell out of them.
I remember a BS roughing the passer call on E.J. Junior that was crucial. Also, a 3rd and long completion to Art Monk that killed us.
