Lions shoppping Roy Williams

Report: Lions have been shopping WR Williams

"Some teams" in the NFL say the Lions are shopping Roy Williams actively, according to NFL.com's Adam Schefter.

Schefter says the Lions under Matt Millen proposed a straight-up trade for DeMarcus Ware with Dallas, but were turned down (and probably laughed off). If the Lions are offered a first-round pick, they ought to pull the trigger. Using the franchise tag on their No. 2 receiver in the '09 offseason wouldn't make much sense. Oct. 5 - 11:16 am et

That was discussed on this board for Q.

Interesting situation...that will be have some effect on Q (his value in trade or his new contract).

I'd do R. Williams for Q in a second.

Williams next to Fitz would be harder to defend then Q/Fitz, IMO.

But, the issue with Boldin's contract isn't Boldin as a player, it's the money in the WR position, so it'll never happen.

Also, I'm surprised the Cowboys wouldn't consider a Ware/Williams trade straight up.

No thanks. I would rather try to trade with Dallas for Ware.

Roy Williams is one of the few good picks Millen made. He has great size, speed and underrated hands. I'm glad he won't be in Dallas and I hope he doesn't end up in the NFCW. I think Philly should send Lito Sheppard to Detroit for him, that's a trade that works for everyone.

Williams was acting like a total punk on the sideline today. Maybe he is frustrated being on the leagues worst team but at least act your damned age.

Plus his contract expries at seasons end so if someone were to trade for him it would be a "rent a player" type of deal...unless they workout some kind of extension.

I'm laughing right now too. and I'm a UT homer from birth. no way would you trade your premier pass rushing defensive player for a guy who has not played to his potential thus far in the NFL. I know jerry jones will be on the phones dialing this one up. what happens who knows?

I'm comfortable with Larry, Steve, and Early if Anquan is really done with the Cardinals.

I understand from a business standpoint if the team can't keep that much cap tied up in WR.

But I do believe the team is better off with Q than without. I don't think Roy Williams is worth a consideration in any event.

If, God forbid, we have to trade Q, we should trade for a pro bowl CB and a 1st day draft pick. He is worth that much IMO
