Michael Pittman. Every week they look a little more similar.
Hey I like Hightower but I also am tempered with his results. He isnt doing very good. But the load of those problems for our RB's(all of them) land squarely on our suck azz O-line who cant run block to save their frakking lives. He is constantly getting hit in the backfield. Our complete line needs to be replaced.

It's funny how the oline run blocking became "okay" when edge was running for over a thousand yards per season.
Now, just like all those years with Jones, Pittman, Smith, JJ, and Shipp, they completly suck again.
Hightower is lucky he'll be running against the rams next week. I'm about one more bad game from calling for him to sit.

Hightower's main problem right now is that he's trying to score a TD on every run and bust a big play. That happens with rookies. Edge is going to get the 2-4 yards,or more, that are available and move on to the next play. Better line blocking would also help.
The line is better than it's been in years. Our run plays are just so obvious and predictable that I'm not sure anyone could make'em work.
They are pretty much the same predictable running plays that Pittsburgh succeeded so well with during the Cowher era.
As with most assumptions the answer is found somewhere in the middle probobly. Sucky run blocking AND sucky running decisions made by Hightower. However, this is to be expected in his rookie year and is a big reason why the org. wants to give him experience now, so the franchise can forge ahead in coming years. It's expected that the run game is going to be spotty at best this year, but we need to develop it as the season progresses.. We know that Warner can pass...use it to set up the run...and stick with ;;that!!!
