It's almost time for Leinart & Hightower

I know this will rile up the masses, but we're a game or two from this inevitability. Warner looked old, slow & methodical yesterday & Edge should have gained 170 yds. I'm not sure what the Skins D did to confuse Warner, but he was not decisive when he needed to be. Hightower needs to touch the ball significantly more than Edge does. With the way the OL was opening up holes, I wouldn't mind seeing Arrington get a few touches & have a chance to take one to the house. I'm not saying this has to happen right now, but it's getting closer.

I think Hightower should be getting equal reps as long as the OL is run blocking well (if they regress, Edge should get the bulk).

Leinart? Come on. Warner is one week removed from a perfect game. There's no way the Cards should even be considering putting him back in at this point (and I'm a big Leinart backer and would have started him in game 1). Warner has more than proved his mettle. It'd take a lot more than mediocre (to fairly good) game to bench him.

From yesterday's game:

PLAYER
ATT YDS TD LG AVG.
E. James 18 93 0 16 5.17
T. Hightower 5 23 0 10 4.60

What is it about those stats that convinces someone Hightower was the better rusher in the game?

There was at least one run that we know that Edge wouldn't have been able to do. The play where Hightower got his 10 yard run. Hightower shook the guy that came free up the middle, made an impressive cut, and gained 10 yards. This would have been a 1 yard loss or a no gain for Edge.

We have no homerun threat with Edge.

WOW!! Just Wow, way to early for this kind of nonsense. HT is still not as good a RB as Edge period and Leinart had his chance and Warner outperformed him. This thread is ridiculous.

Warner threw one bad pass yesterday...he was pretty much on the money, despite a slow down conservative game plan where it was hard for him and the passing game to get into a good rhythm.

How about the strike he threw to Fitz in the corner of the endzone, which Fitz normally catches 9 out of 10 times?

The Cardinals are trying to be smashmouth and a passing juggernaut all at the same time...which is almost impossible to do.

With two Pro Bowl WRs and two potentially stud pass catching TEs, and a speedy upfield receiver out of the backfield in Hightower, they can play lights out....if they are allowed to get into a rhythm.

Rushing the ball should happen as a surprise and for running clock.

The Cards can't have it both ways...not if they want to maximize their best talents.

Ask other teams...even the Redskin reporters were saying that they didn't mind James getting all his touches, even if he did have 93 yards...the fact that Boldin had 25, was the telling stat.

man it wasn't Warner fault we lost the game he played a pretty good game minus the int, it was the defense fault we lost the game they couldn't get a stop all day and cambell owned us that is why we lost.

Kurt has 6 TD's to 1 INT and is completing 64.3% of his passes. His QB rating is 111.7. Kurt's YPA is 8.9, the second highest of his career.

Bench Warner? Man, that would be dumb. Whiz would completely lose the team if he did that.

The LAST thing we need right now is another QB controversy. Kurt is a guy you ride when he's going well, and he is going well.

Matt just has to continue to prepare for his chance to play so if/when it happens he's ready.

i agree about Hightower, not so much Warner. Warner hasn't had the terrible turnovers he's had in the past. The INT was blatant interference. It amazes me,stats aside, that people can't see the TH brings alot more in the big play scheme of things. There's absolutely no way to prove it but i say TH would have put up alot better numbers had he had 18 caries and the holes Edge had. I like Edge but to get the offense to the next level we need a more explosive RB and TH is the only guy on our roster that has that capablility.
