I would agree with CHeese if Warner plays bad in the next 2 I say screw it season is over anyway if we go to 2-4, start Leinart and let him show us what he has got for the rest of the season.
this had to be very difficult for you to say!

oh, and let me just say this... I really don't expect Matt to be good if he plays so don't start that argument with me. I just think the team needs to definitively know where it's going next year with it's most important position. Hell, I'd even give Kurt two more weeks to prove me wrong but if the turnovers continue, there's no better time to make the switch than the bye week.
Yup! If the "bad Kurt" was a one-game event, it's forgivable, because everybody including Bret Favre has a bad game occasionally. And really it's been ONE BAD (well VERY BAD) GAME. But if we are 2 and 4 at the bye, the Cardinals need to spend those two weeks getting Matt Leinart ready to find out IF he has a future as the team's quarterback IMO.
The most disappointing part of the whole season is the way two pro-bowl receivers are being wasted because the Cardinals can't run the ball consistently, can't get good offensive line play consistently, and have a quarterback who morphs from a pro-bowl passer into a turnover machine against certain defenses and schemes.

it's funny, Ouchie texted me the EXACT same thing you wrote above and just as I was texting him back that it wouldn't matter because once the game has any level of pressure Warner would just go back to turning it over because that's his MO, the D got a stop to get us within 13 with four minutes left and what happened? The game actually became a game again, the pressure was on, and on the very first play Warner put the ball on the ground AGAIN.
It just doesn't matter.
Here's the thing - we've got very little shot at being good with Warner in there in the present and he's not part of the future. Play Matt and figure out if he is the future so we don't have to waste next season as well trying to figure out if we have a QB or not.
My god I have been saying this for months now!!!!!!
Mitch, CardCampos, 82, Brenda Warner, and every other Bilble tumpong Warner lover. HE GETS HIS STATS WHEN IT DOESN'T MATTER! So it lulls you into thinking - "Hey Kurt Warner had 27 TD's last year. Wow, He's good!" Umm not really -
EVERY FRAKING TIME you need him he does this. It's wayyyyy too much to be a conincidence. Like Pacino once said in Devils Advocate.
"Pressure... changes everything pressure. Some people you squeeze them, they focus... others fall..."
Keep on Keepin on Warner fans. But where once I thought Haley and Wiz had gotten this out of him the Jets game confirmed our worst fears.
Warner is not taking us anywhere. And the longer we take to realize that, the faster another lost season will come.....

Or as John Wooden says, adversity doesn't build character, it reveals it(says the same thing about sports in general). Not that Kurt lacks character mind you what it means is what separates a guy like Brady from the average NFL QB is not physical it's his ability to perform at his best when the game is on the line.
it's the same thing with Rackers, he's a great kicker when it doesn't matter, and a mediocre kicker when it counts.
In that game yesterday most of expected 2 things, if the game got close, the defense would fold. And if the game got close, Kurt would turn it over again. Both happened.
The offensive line sucks, still. He was getting pounded the whole game. When he had time he was money. I am not going to believe Matt would perform as well under the same circumstances. Nothing to indicate he would.
He had plenty of time, and most of his sacks in the first half were after the dreaded 3 seconds. Warner had time in the 2nd half when they were rushing 2 and 3 players.... no wonder.
Warner threw and interception and a pick 6 with 2 MEN RUSHING. That is inexcusable.
Lets just turn the tables on this one. If Matt had this kind of game, everyone would be calling for Kurt.
Its tough I mean everytime a game gets tight we as fans feel something bad is going to happen and you know the players that have been here awhile feel the same way. Our losing is entrenched in some of the players as well as fans it sucks not sure how to change that mentality besides winning, and well that continues to be hard for the Cardinals.

That's precisely why some of us didn't want to commit to Kurt as the starter though. We were pretty sure from past experience that he was going to revert to turnover machine in such situations so why not see what Matt can do.
remember one of the big selling points was we have a weak opening schedule we can go 3-1 or 4-0 we need to go with the hot hand. We did, and we're 2-2. Kurt has had one good first half in 4 games, he keeps starting slowly.
Gotta turn that around, you do not want to start slowly against Buffalo the way they play they're not easy to come from behind on.

Not just for us but basically for 26/32 teams per year. The NFL doesn't see so much domination any more. It's a lot more balanced now , the power among teams that aren't in the top tier.
That's what this team needs to change. Get into those top 6 teams one year and then repeat it to stop the sucking. First I'll take the playoffs though.
As far as the QB goes whatever WildBB thinks is best to do we need to do the complete opposite. I remmeber you were the very last man off the McCown bandwagon. Even after it was painfully obvious how bad he was LOL

Kurt is not a manager of the game. He put up big numbers because he put the team in a situation where they had to throw 90 - 100% of the time. As you say, his slow starts are killing us. Matt may not be the answer, but we don't know that yet. Yesterday Kurt looked finished. That was an embarrassment plain and simple.

Yeah the scary thing with Kurt's career is the people saying this is just one game haven't looked at his past much. If you do you see that it's usually NOT just one game.
Same thing with the Giants, same thing with the Rams. I really hope Kurt plays well against buffalo but history says when he has a game like that he usually follows it with another bad game. And he really hasn't had too many games like the one yesterday, the last one he did was his last start as a Ram, he got benched for the rest of the season after that(threw for 350+ in that game but had 6 fumbles).
In 2006 he had 10 fumbles and 5 INTs in 6 games...he was only sacked 14 times yet still managed to drop the ball 10 times. Luckily he only lost 3 of those fumbles.
2008 4 INTs 4 Fumbles (3 lost) in 4 games and he's been sacked 12 times...if he goes a full schedule this season there is no doubt he'll come close to 20 fumbles (he had 12 last season) and approach 20 INTs (he had 17 last year).
Warner is not going to get any better...best we can hope for is more of the same 1 bad game in every 4, 2 OK games in every 4 and 1 great game in every 4.
So Zeno your saying we get 3 out of 4 pretty good games from our QB? That kinda makes you say umm Ok I still take Warner over Leinart if he can be good 3 out of 4 games. Leinart just doesn't make this offense work right now, but if Warner stinks it up again we will see just what we have in Matty.

No I said 2 Ok games(meaning good enough to keep it close enough but thats it), 1 great game and 1 horrible game. I'd rather have a QB that can go and give us 3 "pretty good" games out of 4 and 1 ok game. Warner isn't that guy. One thing he always will be is a high % passer but another thing he always will be is a turnover machine. If he was a high % passer and cut his turnovers in half that would be acceptable but at his age we can't expect that kind of improvement.

Maybe he'll find a pair of gloves that work in the rain.
or maybe the NFL will change the schedule so we only play in domes.
