Interesting WR prospect
I have found the speed WR we need to stretch the field, NEXT year.
6" 190, a little old(26), cut physique, faster than Gilmore.
Seems that banned British sprinter Dwain Chambers(one of the early Balco guys to test positive) is enrolled at Chabot Junior College in the Bay area trying to learn "Gridiron" so he can make a run at the NFL.
Ran a 9.87 100 meters, of course he's never played football in his life before and is currently the #4 WR on a junior college team.
Coach says it's kind of crazy to watch, one play he'll catch a slant and outrun everyone and you think you've got the next Bob Hayes, then he'll stop in the huddle and ask the QB to explain exactly what pattern he's supposed to run, or drop a ball right in his hands and look like he's never seen a football before.
he does say he thinks Chambers has a chance, if he were 4 years younger he said there's no doubt in his mind he'd get an NFL shot, but at 26 he's not sure if he will.

Forgive me Russ but this is has to be said--- 6" 190lbs. hard to tackle but easy to step on. Did they say how many legs he has to run that fast?

Yes 6 inches is a bit short But he can really jump.
Make that 6 feet, that's what you get for typing fast.

The only reason I brought it up is I was reading where both Justin Gatlin(100 meter gold medalist) and Shaun Crawford said they had turned down offers from NFL teams to workout last year because they were focussing on the Olympics. Apparently NFL teams routinely contact sprinters, which might explain why a guy like Gilmore has stuck around despite clearly being unable to do the job so far.
Hard to believe a guy that age with no football experience will make it,but Christian Okoye was in his early 20's the first time he ever played, in fact I've read the first real game he saw, he played in.
