Just spent a few minutes on the phone with ESPN's Chris Mortensen, who shared an interesting Felix Jones nugget. Mortensen is very familiar with all things Felix because his son plays quarterback for the University of Arkansas.
Mort said that the Cardinals almost took Jones with the No. 16 pick overall before deciding to take Tennessee State's Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie. The two players will square off Sunday in Glendale, Ariz.
Rodgers-Cromartie is currently the nickel corner for the Cardinals. It looks like former Eagles cornerback Rod Hood will be matched up with Terrell Owens for most of the game. And I'm sure he'll take a page out the Redskins game plan and jam T.O. at the line of scrimmage. I'm anxious to see how that works out.
Knowing what you know now what are your thoughts? Personally I am loving Hightower so I am okay even if DRC doesn't develop into Champ Bailey.
Looking back the guy I wanted was Mendenhall - good thing I ain't drafting.....

Didn't someone on this board say before the draft that we really liked Jones? 16 might have been high to pick him but so far he's been terrific, I thought he was a bit small in college but so far he's been great.
I think DRC will be a very good CB and it's easier to find RB's than CB's, witness Hightower.
I guess the question on Felix is can he be a feature back but with Barber around that doesn't really matter to Dallas.

I can only imagine the board's and local media's reaction if they had taken Felix Jones (with Mendenhall still on the board) --
Of the three Hightower has the most TDs, Jones has a sick ypc and has shown big play ability and Mendenhall hasn't done much of anything in his limited carries. I don't really see RM as a complementary type back so I don't think we'll see what he's really capable of until he starts and plays a full game as the featured back. (A game with more than the 9 carries he got against Baltimore.)
