Stats are highly over-rated, but Jacobs does look special.

yeah Hawk is legit he really impressed me against Texas.

That said, with a shot at a real QB like Leinart or Leak I would be willing to part with quite a bit.

I can't get past his throwing motion, I can't recall a good QB who ever threw like that?

Can he be coached out of that? he's got the intangibles as they say.

I'm not sure he has to be, it's just so weird looking. If you figure how far Rodgers fell in part because of the way he holds and throws the ball, will that happen to Jacobs? He's bigger and stronger than Rodgers so maybe not, definitely not a Tedford QB so maybe the NFL doesn't care about his motion?

Weird though it seems to negate his height. Every time I see highlights of the guy I can't get past that.

but plenty of guys in other sports have been stars doing things you're not supposed to do, Jamaal Wilkes, Albert Pujols(Cards wanted to change his stance in A ball but he hit too well).

If he can put up stats like he is in college with his throwing motion. Then I don't care if he throws underhand between the legs.

Everybody bashed Dontrel Willis for his throwing motions now he is one the best pitchers in baseball.

Russ,

I've watched Leak since his junior year at Independence High in Charlotte and yes he is good, athletic and football savvy. But he's a little guy and this will influence where he might fall........and he hasn't an exceptionally strong arm either. I would not use a 1st round pick on him.

I do believe that we are going to have to address the QB situation sooner than later......McCown (yes, I am now somewhat in the he hasn't got it and won't category) is not the answer. Our #1 and #2 needs are O-Line and DT. One of which will be done in FA next year.

i was impressed with him in the little time i saw him last year and this year's wisconsin game. only problem, he negates his great size with that sidearm throwing motion. the pros hate that too.

True, but a 41 to 4 TD-INT ratio tends to stand out, no matter what system you are in.

Leak is smaller for sure listed anywhere between 6'2 and 6'0 so measurement will play a role in where he is drafted.

He's really good though, not a cannon for an arm but he's done really well given he walked right in and started as a freshman in a major program in a tough conference.

I prefer him to Jacobs right now but that's mainly Jacobs just throws so weird.

I know dreaming is free, but this is pure pipe dream. Whoever's #1 will get a whole lot more than those three picks for the rights to Matt Leinart. And why would Cleveland trade out of that spot anyways? I doubt they think McCown Jr. is the answer and they know Dilfer isn't.

EDIT - Forgot they drafted that dude from Akron. Still, you really think the Browns would pass up Matt Leinart to go with Charlie Frye?
