I don't have a photographic memory, but it seems to me that

Graves followed thru pretty well with everything he said pre draft about what was the battleplan was:especially about not drafting a QB. I know that there is always a lot of double speak going on but when you zero'ed into what he was really saying......most of it transpired. I mean there are some people who will never be happy until an organization actually says here is who, why and when we are going to draft.

On another thread, someone asked Jimmy O if management would ever consider letting a fan in to the warroom so that we could hear exactly what the reasoning was behind each selection..........yeah, right.......can you imagine one of us yahoo's sitting in the corner when the trade with NO was being formulated......"you're going to swap 2nd RD picks......you're giving up a 4th.......you're taking WHO......what are you nuts". That person would be "keelhauled out of there so fast they would'nt know what hit them". Would be fun though, would'nt it?

Yeah I can see Kerouac9 sprinting to the podium with Terrell Suggs on a draft card when nobody in the Cards' warroom was watching. "The ARizona Cardinals select Terrell Suggs, Arizona State" as teh whole room goes "who the hell made that pick?"

If I were there I'd have hung up on New Orleans when they asked to swap 2nds and get an extra 4th. Click.

One of my favorite recruiting stories of all time was an assistant coach to Adam Keefe in HS. A coach for North Carolina called to speak to Keefe and the assistant put him on hold to go and get Keefe, but the coach didn't want Keefe to go to UNC he wanted him to go to Stanford(felt he fit there more). So the coach never came back, eventually UNC hung up thinking Keefe didn't want to talk to them, and Keefe assumed UNC had reneged on their promise to call him. Had a great career at Stanford I have no idea when his HS coach told him the story?

That was me. And it would have to come with the strict caveat of keeping your trap shut. I wanted to view for myself how things work...with their draft board, decisions, trade calls. There is no other way to be able to really understand how a team comes to the decisions it does.

I could have easily sat there annd said nothing had I been in that room (although I was screaming mad in the chat room ). Because when the trade was made, a discussion would have taken place afterwards which would have made things very clear long before the picks were ever made. Ypu wopuld have heard the EXACT reasoning they used to accept the trade and who they expected to be able to take. For all we know, Graves says: "Hope McDougle is there but if not we are going to grab Pace". That would have made everything more understandable (I presume there would have been a longer discussion about the scenario then I presented) but since we aren't privy to all that is going on, we fly off the handle over the picks (like I admit I did).

I'm not saying I wouldn't have pushed Tags out of the way (Probably not, though), but there's a thread out here somewhere about how the trade went down, and we called the Saints, and then we called them back to say "all right; you win."
