How many starters will we get out of this years draft?
Last year we were able to get a starter out of each of our first 4 rounds of picks, getting us 4 new starters. Are we going to be able to do the same this year? If so, that would get us 5 new starters. I think we were fortunate last year, I hope we do the same this year, but what is everyone hopping for being realistic? If we do end up with 3, 4, or 5 new starters out of this draft, what a dramatic change for the organization since Denny took over.

Last year's draft was historically deep, and our roster was monumentally thin. Coming in to this season, we have basically one open position on offense (RB--Sorry all you Dave Baas fans) and two open on defense--only one of which is an actual starting position (LCB and Slot CB).
Based on that, I'm guessing that we'll net two starters in this draft and three other contributors (situational and special teams players). I suspect that we'll see fewer Darnell Docketts and more Antonio Smiths from this lottery.

Ok I give, who the heck is Antonio Smith?
Is this the guy we drafted from OSU last year and everyone wondered why?

Welcome, farnzy. Out of necessity, We'll get two full time starters and one part time. RB, CB full-time and TE or OG part-time.

I think at least three. RB, CB and TE. I think there is also a chance on OG and DT. We need two CBs and at least one TE. I think if the Cardinals draft a TE before the fifth round he will become the starter.

I say 2(CB, RB)....do you consider kick returner/punt returner a "starter"? If you do then I'd up that number to 3. My hope is that returner is Sproles.
I hope we also get some potential starters at other spots, maybe guys who won't start a lot this year but will have the potential and a chance to compete for a spot after having a full season under their belts...like an OG, DT or OLB.
