Help me win a PS2 Madden '08 tournament using the Cardinals!
Tournament is this upcoming Sunday- Aug. 26th !
We are allowed to mix up playbooks so I think I am using the offensive playbook of the Saints and defensive playbook of the Ravens.
Any little things you think can help me win please post them here. Whether its player substitutions, certain plays that always work, how to block a punt, etc. I don't play as much as the other guys do but I want to represent the Cardinals well!
Go Cards/ America!

the lions have a really fun playbook, with a lot of cool passing plays.
just be sure to keep an eye out for defenders who creep up to do a blitz, and audible a hot route for the receiver on that side to do a fly pattern, and throw a deep ball to burn them for 6. works for me if you can get the pass over before the rush hits you

Using a semi-mobile QB that can run back faster than the defense can blitz is huge. They don't need Vick speed, but just enough to beat the rush. Carson is a good example or this, so is McNabb. Go routes work too well in Madden.
When I want to pound the ball, I use the Chargers. LD running the ball, with Michael Turner as a backup is the best RB duo in the league. The goalline formation is pretty much unstoppable if you do it right. The offtackle, the sprint, and any of the play action passes. I can beat 9/10 players without ever passing the ball. Most tosses/pitches don't work well in this game.
I have 3 teams on Madden. The Cards of course, the Chargers when I run the ball, and the Bengals when I want to pass.
Hope this helps.

I used the Cards playbook exclusively and owned my buddy repeatedly who was using the Seahawks.
I recommend LOTS of variety of quick slant patterns to Boldin and Fitz. Weak/Strong I formation. Boldin and Fitz seem to catch everything thrown there way. I couldn't get Edge to gain a yard, just like real life! This game is amazing.

When you are in the Red Zone have Fitz as your #1 receiver and do a hot route. With the right analog stick hit it up quickly for the route. At the line of scrimmage he will break from the defender off to the side and run straight up. All you have to do is lob the ball into the endzone and it will be a TD everytime no matter what the coverage is.

I don't know about everytime, but I love that route.
