Go back 3 years
and a dozen years before that.
How we feel right now is how we felt every other week, and i mean EVERY other week - sick to the pits of our stomach.
This sucks but we are not that same team and will bounce back. Ok maybe not next week but we will sure as hell try.
Lets not make this a week of kneejerk reactions to one loss with out back up QB.
good night

Agreed, I think it hurts just as bad because our expectations have gone up. Yeah, but we've come along way from my days when I was anxious about an upcoming game against the Lions hoping to improve to 3-9.

I'm more worried about playing SF in a huge game because there's no way our current D beats Peterson and Favre. A win would have been huge but as usual we have a chance to make a stop on a 99 yard drive and choke it away down to the redzone. Instead of getting lucky we got burnt this time because our pass D is WELL below average.

Losing a close game on the road with the backup QB in?
Making it the first road loss of the season?
Chin up man, plenty of season left and more than enough time for the team to get hot.

The problem is, who have they beat? Jacksonville, Seattle, NYG, Chicago & St. Louis. I don't have a problem with them beating the teams they're supposed to beat but let's not make them into paper champions. Just as the NYG were exposed earlier this year, I'm concerned about the Cardinals come playoff time.
They aren't road warriors, they just haven't played anyone. They got killed at home by Indianapolis, which is understandable, but they also got throttled by a mediocre Carolina team. They gave away the first game to SF and now have given another away to Tennessee.
They are punctuating the fact that they are not mentally tough and making it very likely that they will bow out of the playoffs very early if they make it there at all. I see two more win's on the schedule. 9-7 may not cut it this year.

You play who's on your schedule and the saints have played less teams then we have.Yet no ones downing them for it.When we lost Dansby for the game we lost a major cog in our pass defense and our Defensive play caller. So that brings in Highsmith who I don't think is in the same league in pass coverage.
I'm not sure how bad Dansby's shoulder is but that has been his major injury all season and I would'nt be shocked to hear that he is done for the season.Wonder how that would effect his big payday? I sure as heck hope he's okay and we can get him back healthy.I just know his shoulder has'nt been right most of the season.Same with Okeafors play.I was so glad to see him back, but his play was also tentative at best.Dockett was just a man possessed.
We should never have allowed that many fourth down conversions.NO WAY.Some were the same play over and over. This game will have major ramifications.I'm very proud of Matt Leinart and how he played. He really showed me he is worth whatever deal they work out to keep him as the starter once Kurt Warner is gone and the CARDINALS will be just fine with him as the quarterback of tomorrow. Now that Kurt got dinged I'm not sure he does'nt hangem up after this year.
No way to complete the 16 game senerio again.I too was very proud of quite a few players but if we were to sit and study the defensive game film we could see why all of those tight end plays ended up so wide open. We've got to fix that or forget playing anyone. We'll always get beat on the last drive if thats the case.My old mans heart can't take it.
I knew all along the Howler had it in him.I said it in the thread the other day he is the best we have right now and what he did tonight was just awesome. He did everything but play defense and call the plays.Dude was magic.Others played thier hearts out too.
Loved the hit A-Dub put on Chris Brown near the endzone. Its football. We are 4 seconds from being perfect on the road for 6 games.Something never done before since 1948.I think thats worth something. We overcame much worse than this last year.Enough with the sky is falling. One game at a time.I was hoping for an 11 game season but I'll settle for 10.Shame though.

Disagree... every road game is tough so Cards have done great so far on the road... until this year, a game on the road was a sure loss except perhaps at Rams. We almost pulled another one out except for back QB and defensive meltdown end of the game.

No one's downing an undefeated team? Imagine that.

Have to agree with you. These are the same old Cardinals. Great at passing the ball and weak on defense just like they have been for the last 22 years. Still snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. The only difference is that they are displaying a semblance of a running game and SF,STL and Seattle are just as bad or far worse than they are.
Caught lightning in a bottle last year during the playoffs but still almost blew the NFC Championship game after getting a huge lead.
The offense is way overrated. 16 points at home vs 49ers. 10 points at home vs the Colts. Down 28-7 vs Carolina (5 interceptions!) and only got to 21 late in the 4th also at home. Only 21 vs the woeful Rams. Only once scoring more than 21 at home!
Can't protect a lead. Downing those punts inside the 10 and letting Tenn just move right down the field both times is terrible.
Barely getting to 9-7 last season losing 4 of the last 6.
Thanks to the NFC being exceptionally weak this year they might once again eke out a playoff spot but the Cards don't deserve to be considered one of the top teams in the NFL.
I'll bet there was an Acorn in that 2008 NFC Championship trophy.
