Live From The Combine - In Process - Friday

Feb 20, 2004

Here are running notes LIVE from the NFL Combine. This page is updated during every day of the combine when drills & measurements are in process.

Friday -- ( Combine Reports ) Steven Jackson | Mewelde Moore

Fred Russell measured in at 5-7.

Steven Jackson measured in at 6-1.5 weighed in at 241.

Jared Lorenzen weighed in at 288, drawing a rise from several at attendance whispering " The Man".

Eli Manning weighed in at 221.

Ben Roethlisberger weighed in at 241.

Larry Fitzgerald hair under 6-3 and weighed in at 225, looked cut - well defined .

Clarence Moore tallest receiver in attendance 6-5.5 .

Devard Darling, Lee Evans better than expected while Michael Clayton measured in lower expected.

Reggie Williams , Roy Williams, and Derek McCoy looked solid and measured in well.

Thursday - Offensive Line Lifts

Scott Wells of Tennessee did well, and managed 30 reps

Shannon Snell and Robert Gallery had disappointing lifts, full details of today's events will be posted shortly for all premium subscribers.

The top prospects did not lift yet, as they are still getting MRI's.

At 225 pounds these players displayed there strength, and a couple showed weakness.

Stacy Andrews, showed his strength by pushing up 34 reps.

Josh Sewell also did well and managed 30 reps.

Nick Leckey and Joseph Hayes showed a weakness, and that is strength as they were only able to do 18 reps.

Next Up: Running Backs

Maurice Clarett came in at 5'11.5 and 237 pounds, hands 9 1/4 ( small hands ) Looked good. Will NOT run, and his " Pro-Day - Workout" will be in the first week of April because he will not be allowed to work out during the Ohio State Pro-Day.

Clarence Farmer, looked very good just under 6'0 231 pounds and lifted 225 pounds 21 times.

Best lift: Tatum Bell - 225 pounds 25 times and weighed in at 212 pounds

Offensive Line: Quick Notes Straight from the Combine:

Measurements: Shawn Andrews sized up to 6-4 366

Stacy Andrews ( Brother of Shawn ) sized up 6'6 340 with a 35 inch arm length

Vernon Carey Measured in at 6'4.5 335

Robert Gallery 6'7 323

Most impressive looking offensive tackle this morning was Adrian Jones of Kansas , and most impressive guard Shannon Snell.

Biggest Disappointment: Nat Dorsey showed up with no muscle tone or physic.

Anybody think that if we don't draft Fitzgerald in the first round, that we could possibly pick up Lee Evans in later rounds. I haven't seen him play that much, but he seems like he can spread the field. I know his health is an issue.
