Confirmed. ESPNews just reported it
No news on whether this affects the cut deadline though.
If this gets extended any longer, I'm going to NY and beat the hell out of both owners and the heads of the NFLPA.

AP just reported the Alexander deal. Due to the timing, I am guessing the salary cap deadline stayed the same.

I wouldn't be surprised to see it delayed again. Once they moved the cut line back to 11:30, I figured something like this was being considered. Why an hour-and-a-half? In order to get the owners to vote on something.

Chris Mortensen on ESPN NEWs
-No more talks will occur
-Upshaw said NFL called him and and said NFL will take whatever players proposed and will show it to all the owners. It will be reviewed on Tuesday/WEdnesday
-There wasnt going to be a hot marked for Shaun Alexander
-The 11:30 cut time has been pushed back as well
-This extension was given to give parties that will be involved in FA to catch their breath
-Owners meet 2pm CT on Tuesday
-80-90% of cuts probably would happen anyway regardless
-The cuts today might be alowed to be rescinded

What load of crap. Teams should have been ready for FA or have a plan in place for FA last friday. One for a new CBA and without out a new CBA. So once again a team such as ours who was ready for free agency and ahead of the pack gets to sit back and watch as other teams get more time to re-sign their own players, restructure new deals to help get under the cap, thus no cuts and less FA on the market, which means an even weaker FA market that we were prepared for.
Really how many players have been restructured or re-signed since the original deadline, I dont know the exact number but it is one to many that should have been on the market or cut by now.
