I was referring to his "put up big numbers, throws int at the wrong time" comment. We should be talking about how we blew it yesterday.
Hmm, even after the ref's handing them the CHANCE to win, he still had to go out there and put two passes on the money in very tight space. And he did. That's clutch.

I think he's a very good player. But, that was one hell of a nice break he caught with that early whistle. That was a bad fumble and Denver would not have been very happy with him today had that play stood. Having got that break though, he made the most of it.

agreed - it's the ability to make up for mistakes (see Brady in the SD playoff game a couple years ago after he threw what looked like a game-ending INT only to get the ball back because of a fumble and lead his team to a TD/2 point conversion to tie it late in the fourth) or make plays after you get away with one (see Montana in the '88 Super Bowl throwing a pick right into a Bengals CB hands in the endzone which was dropped before throwing a TD on the next play).
That's not to say the kid's a Brady or a Montana... far from it. But being able to take advantage of mistakes or breaks is a pretty damn good trait for a young QB to have.

Yep, it can be good to have a short memory sometimes for a QB. Make a bad play and dwell on it is bad, make a bad play(or two his INT on the prior drive) and yet still be able to make the big throw when needed that's a nice trait to have.
Cutler has his flaws obviously but he's very good.
I also finally appear to have gotten a WR right, before the draft his year I said Brandon Marshall reminded me a bit of a poor man's Boldin. 18 catches sunday, 102 last year. He's been a moron off the field but he is awfully good on the field. I missed on so many WR's in recent years it's nice to finally be right on one.
I think Cutler's solid. Straight up, would you trade Leinart for him?
in a heartbeat (and this was coming from someone who believed Matt should be the starter until he crapped his pants during the pre-season and someone who was scared to death we'd take Cutler and pass on Matt during the draft).

In the last 8 minutes of that game, he threw an INT from the 10 yard line (in the endzone) and fumbled at the 5. In what world is that "clutch"?
I don't give a rat's ass what he did after Ed Hochuli blew the call and handed him the ball for a third chance to take the lead. The NFL has flat-out admitted that the game should have been over.
And he didn't even get hit on the fumble. He just dropped the ball.
