Oh, come on. Don't get testy. I'm just yanking everyone's chain.
Cutler is like a better Jake Plummer. Unless you watch him it's hard to explain what he's missing. He's one of those guys who puts up great numbers in a game but throws a pick exactly when you need him not to. Whatever is the opposite of "clutch", that's what he is.
I'm with Jim - Shanahan and Denver are a giant excuse factory. He hasn't accomplished anything since Elway retired and they're still looking for a QB. When Cutler leads that team somewhere, I'll take it all back. When he throws for a bunch of yards on a listless team, I am not ready to put the crown on him.
Same ailment many teams suffer from after the great ones leave.
Dolphins - Marino
Bills - Kelly

I'm not sure which part of my direct quote from you I'm misreading....enlighten me.
I'm horribly bored, so I'll help you out here...

Really, he's not missing anything? That's pretty amazing. Physically, yes, he can do anything. So can Kyle Boller. When he stops losing games with turnovers and actually leads Denver somewhere, then we can say he's the complete QB.
I think in part you're right: he needs to be a better decision-maker. Sometimes he'll tend to lock onto a target (ie Scheffler, who he seems to have a real affinity for). But, I also don't lay all of the Broncos offensive woes at his feet.
Shannahan is a pretty terrible GM and hasn't been able to put much talent around him, and ever since Kubiak left, the offense in the redzone has been down-right bad. I put that on Shanahan's playcalling (Kubiak called the plays previously).
But you seem to be implying that he doesn't have "it." I disagree, I think he's got loads of "it." He's not without his problems, but he's only entering his third year. While it's premature to call him a superstar, it's just as much (and IMO more) of a stretch to look back and say "you should know when to fold 'em," the implication (to me) being that he's a bust and people that think he;s any good should just shut up about him already.

So far he seems to have all day to just stand back there and take his time to decide who to throw it too. I only saw the tailend of yesterday's gift to Denver from the refs and nearly all of the Oakland game. I would like to see Lienart have that much time. I wonder what the sack comparison of ML to Cutler is so far?

Leinart - 25 sacks to 491 attempts. 19.6:1 ratio.
Cutler - 41 sacks to 678 attemtps. 16.5:1 ratio.
Cutler's actually been sacked more than Leinart, per attempt. Of course, that's of limited meaning, given differences in system, playing style, and quickness of release. But, you asked.

Indeed it is limited for the very reasons you cited Spielman. I was curious though to sort of get an idea of how often Lienart has gotten knocked around whenever he does drop back to pass for whatever reason.
There is a fairly signifigant difference in the frequency of Matt's hits as to Cutlers. Lienart as I recall had all day to pass in college. Not sure about Cutler. This will likely be something he is gonna have to adjust to as a pro. Not to mention ML has already had one season ending injury to Cutler's none thus far.

Actually, it appears yesterdays game proved Ed's point exactly. If it werent for the mistake by the ref's he would have put up great numbers but lost the game on that fumble in the last seconds....
