Feelings about the Bret Favre situation?
Pick one of the options if you care.

I don't mind that favre is back, but I believe that when you hold a huge press confrence and say that your really not intrested in playing anymore and that the packers can move into a new direction you should stick to your words.

He is entitled to change his mind and the Packers are entitled to let him come back, keep him, trade him or release him.
Whatever.

There needs to be a 5th option.
Farve is an attention whore who has ruined ESPN, the NFL network, and sports radio coverage of this offseason for all NFL fans. Cant get a story about anything other then Favre this offseason and has made me turn off the NFL network and ESPN completely.

That may be true, but it's not he who is whipping the media into a frenzy. They do a fine job of that all on their own. Not to mention, in the offseason it's not easy to come by a story as good as a first-ballot HOFer coming out of retirement and being blocked by his team. I don't see how anyone's to blame for making that a headline story until it resolves itself.

Favre is only about 25% to blame for all of this.

Green Bay, and oversaturation by the media are just as much to blame.

ESPN has beaten me to death with Favre talk. At this point I've got green and yellow blood pouring out of my ears.

Baloney that GB is in any way responsible. Unless they brainwashed Farve into being wishy-washy until he decided to stay retired, and then wait until it was the most inconvenient for the team and, coincidentally, the time of the year when he could get the most media coverage--then decide to come back? In that case, yeah, I'd blame the team. Otherwise, what do you want them to do? Cave in completely and admit that Farve can basically be the GM of the team?

Disagree. Farve has without a doubt helped whip it up into a bigger frenzy. Text messages to all of his sport reporter buddies. Easily leaked info about the whole process. Letting his brother and father talk to the media all they want, even before he made his announcement public, and continue talking to the media after words. Showing up to the Packers Family fest scrimmage in a private jet and escalade. This guy has been without a doubt calculated this whole thing for maximum media coverage.
Edit - Forgot about the not just 1 but 2 part sit down flamitory interview.

yup. The media has certainly milked this for all it is worth and then some, but Favre started all of it and fanned the flames as much as he possibly good.

I mostly agree with this... However, at the end of the day, it was Favre who made the decision to "retire", and it's Favre who is now deciding to "unretire"...
I think it's not too much to ask that he realize the impact on his team by his actions. IMHO, he made a decision to leave the game on a huge high... He's a first ballot shoe-in HOFer... He should have stayed out... Not doing so has caused this incredible frenzy and he knew darn well it would...
I'm a Favre fan, however, I am completely fed up with all of the crap that has transpired over the last month or so...
Just leave Brett...

The Packers could have handled this better, IMO, and I didn't vote that Favre should have stayed retired. But my main issue is that this isn't the first time we've been through this, and I can't say that Favre's in the right when he's hindered his team--a storied club with which all of his success is inextricably linked--on more than one occasion.
If he plays, he better play well (whether it be for GB, Minnesota, or anyone else). I think some of the luster has worn off, and a lot of fans will be less forgiving of bad interceptions this time around.
