Edgerrin James

Taken from an article on the main site:

"James was clearly not thrilled he did not play. But he emphasized he held nothing against Hightower – who has become close with James – and that “nothing will come between me and Tim.” "

Good for Edge. I really like that he is enjoying the fact Tim Hightower is succeeding.

Furthermore, you cannot blame Edge for being frustrated for not seeing the field. I would be more concerned if he was OK with it.

James has been a great back in this league, and still is a good back. Regardless of the "he said this and that" I respect the guy, am happy for what he has done for us while here in Arizona, happy he is helping our young RB out, and hope to see him fit into a role sometime this year.

Now don't get me wrong, Tim Hightower proved Sunday he deserves his starting role. I am saying that Edge is at least trying to handle the situation as best as possible, and a hard situation at that.

He is obviously going to be let go in the offseason, but until then I hope he can help this team out.

Strong post, RugbyMuffin. I absolutely agree. James is a class act; when Hightower made his TD run, EJ was smiling and congratulating him.

A good person and a good teammate.

I think I have read that the Colts actually had a ring made for James, even though he was a Cardinal by the time the Colts had their Super Bowl year.

It seems to me that James gets a bad rap for supposedly being a "me" player. But yet his teammates do things such as give him the game ball or Super Bowl rings, thus giving him credit for being an instrumental part of the team's success.

James looked like his head was going to explode when they panned to shots of him on the sidelines. I'm still mystified he was a scratch from the game.

No doubt he will be cut after the season and could give the Cards about a 2.3 million save against the cap

no he's not. a below average RB, one who next offseason will struggle to find a job as a backup much like Shawn Alexander did.

if you're hoping for him to fit into a role on the field this year, you better hope for Doc Brown to show up in his Delorean and to bring 2001 Edge back to the future, because otherwise, there's no role for him play.

Off the field, he could certainly be a good mentor to Hightower, but his time on the field is completely finished, barring injury.
