This seems like it is getting ugly. I don't think edge can pulll this crap with Whiz. He did it with Denny but the fat man had one foot out the door at the time so he got away with it. I think this article and the "closed door meeting" may help explain why we didn't see edge much last week and why we probably won't see him very much in the future.
Though it's tempting to lump James into the category of disgruntled, disruptive athlete, it wouldn't be right. He was asked fair questions and responded with honest answers. He didn't call the organization cheap or clueless or any other pejorative some past Cardinals have flung the team's way. He believes he could be used better and, although he might not be right, he's entitled to his opinion. This is not divisive, split-the-team stuff. He is well liked in that locker room, and as Anquan Boldin has shown, if you have the respect of your teammates, what you say doesn't matter if they still believe you'll give your heart, your right arm, your sinus membrane or anything else for the team.
"(What James said) isn't even talked about in here," Boldin said Monday. "I would expect him to say that. He's a playmaker, a competitor, and that's just him being competitive. He wants the ball in his hands. What's wrong with that?"
If Boldin and the rest of the guys aren't worried about it, I'm not either.

Interesting, if not worrisome. While I'd like to see his carries increase, I don't think Hightower is ready to be the true "feature back." But, if Edge forces Whiz's hand, I think he could find himself even more unhappy with his role.
He's to hoping the kid can make the most of it.

I think the x factor is Arrington. If he can show that the light bulb has gone on, and maybe break a big one, then I am pretty sure that would put the nail in the coffin. I honestly think that Arrington could produce as big if not bigger than James right now. Think about the run #32 gets where he sees a little bit of daylight...if Arrington hits those gaps he's gone. JMHO.

I wish I felt the same as you.
And I'm probably the biggest JJ homer on this board, but he has only shown minor flashes this season.
I worry about him being consistent, and the line blocking for Tim.
I think you COULD be right, but you have more confidence in JJ right now than I do...that's shocking.

JJ hasn't seen a lot of action. Wasn't he inactive for the first four games? He brome the long one against the Raiders in the pre (I know its only pre), looked solid against Buffalo and dalllas, broke a long TD against Dallas on the kickoff....His only bad play was teh INT vs. Carolina but that was a pretty bad tosss by Warner..it happens. I just wonder what he could do with 10-15 carries per game thats all. Its tought to makee a huge impact in spot duty on 3rd downs in only 3 of 7 games.
The only way James is being put in a position to fail is by the media who keep poking at James with the same question over and over.
It sounds to me that James is trying to side step the issue, but the media will not let it happen, and are digging for a story.
James had a bad game last week, but I am still happy to have him part of the team in any role.

I agree. Believe me, I agree.
I'm all for JJ getting 10-12 and Tim getting 10-12 carries a game and seeing what we have. It does seem like with JJ, the light is at least flickering, if not all the way on.

When the media starts asking the same old questions, that is when Edge pulls our the "Bull Durham" card:
I play 110% all the time
As long as the team wins, I don't care about my personal stats
I am there when the team needs me
Coach knows what is best for the team
etc. etc.
