Derrius Thompson No Longer An Option

The Fins grabbed him, at least according to the ESPN News ticker. Just a heads up. I'm not saying it's absolutely solid yet, but it's usually a done deal by the time it makes the ticker.

Darn! He was almost the greatest Redskins WR since Rod Gardener!

Truth is, he'd be our #1 right now!

Also: John Thornton supposedly (according to Kffl) is about to sign with the Bengals...

Now if that's true I'm really pi$$ed. How much money can the Bungles have? They just re-signed Takeo Spikes and signed Kevin Hardy. Why on earth aren't we outbidding them? It's a sad, sad day when players would rather play for the Bengals.

Then again, maybe if we had already landed Colvin,

...............or Stewart,

...............or Okeafor,

...............or Jackson,

then maybe guys like Thornton would take us more seriously.

Don't worry about Thornton too much. He is a middle tier tackle, not even close to a dominate one, and he got 3.75 million per year. Our tackles can be OK, but we really need edge rushers more than anything else.

Hopefully the offer to Colvin is good enough, and we also sign Okeafor. IF we sign two DEs (Colvin is basically a DE), we can use a high pick on a tackle that can rush the passer.
