because it's"normal" for Philly fans to act like animals towards other teams fans, they enabled the Philly fans by going there unprotected or not paying for a suite? They should know better?
I'm sorry but that type of logic just exaccerbates the situation. Be loud, be proud, don't take any smack form people in your house, but keep the drunken assault and battery teams out of it.
It shouldn't be tolerated anywhere.

I find that fans of other Philly sports teams (76ers, Phillies, Flyers) aren't nearly as bad as Eagles fans. I was at the Vet when (I think it was) Walz who broke his leg. Some jackarse sitting next to me kept screaming "Scrape him off the field." He was a total scumbag and, not surprisingly, a drunk.
Eagles fans are the worst and even the Eagles fans I know will tell you so. Many think they know everything and take it extremely personally when the Eagles lose. I don't know what it is.
I know a lot of Eagles fans who aren't scumbags ... my dad, brother, uncle and lots of my cousins and friends. I'm rooting for the Eagles this year for them, but it is very hard to do so because I would really hate for the scumbag fans to have a reason to celebrate.
BTW, I agree with BIM. Culpepper should have known better. C'mon, man. How long have you been in the NFL? You didn't know about this situation? Yeah, the behavior was completely wrong and outta line, but the best offense is a good defense.
Hey, I was at that game too! I was up in section 700 something, having obscenities and all shouted at me. I'm sure if we were winning, there would have been beer thrown too. At least my section was pretty cool when Walz went down...didn't seem to want to cheer an injury.
Now, when Jake brought us back to win in the opening game of 99, I was in the lower section, so when I celebrated on the way out, I heard groans of pain instead of insults. When I got to the parking lot, some guy shouted 'Plummer's a wife beater!' I told him Plummer wasn't even married. He was so frustrated with himself and his team he almost cried

Thank you for breaking the circle of suck, Bidwill--Stout, December 7 2008.
i was at a jet/eagles preseaons game up near the 700 club and some jackass shows up in a cowboys shirt
got flat out abused .... not sure what he was thinking
once again, i think it's disgusting that this type of crap happens, but it's the current situation and one that is well known ... at times you have to take precaution
I think it's ridiculous that people steal, break into houses, etc ... but I know it happens so I lock my doors and watch my possessions
I think it sucks that there are so many high crime places, but I know where they are and don't make it a point to go shopping there
I think it's horrible w/what is going on in the middle east, but you wont see my walking down the streets of iraq anytime
all these things are social ills that I would love to see fixed, but the bottom line is you know the score beforehand ... you can only complain so much when things go bad

HEY! I was at THAT game, too ... by myself in the lower level! Kick arse!
I'm not condoning the behavior and I think everyone ... opposing fan or not ... should expect a certain amount of tolerance and respect from people. Unfortunately, that doesn't always happen in Philly ... or other stadiums.
One of my most friendly visits to a home team's stadium was the *gasp* Cowboys. They were super nice to me. (Well, I did get booed and heard some not-so-nice words as I walked down to the lower level at the game, but hey, I expected that.)
BTW, I've heard about a lot of fights with opposing fans at SDS, fellas.

Plus, it won't help anyway. Those freaks start tailgating at 8 a.m. I'm driving to church and they're driving to the game. I pass them every Sunday morning there's a home game.
Will be interesting to see how the snow situation works out. I predict a storm and not of the weather kind.

Philly fans are absolutely the worst. It is like a pack of barbarians. I call Culpepper stupid for putting anyone in a Vikings jersey, and sitting them down in the crowd. Is it right that Philly fans act this way?, NO......but it is fact that they act this way.
BTW - I have gone to the vet in full Cards gear, and survived. Show it loud and proud.
I can relate. While I have never been to the Vet. I did go to the Oakland game in 2001 when the Cards won in OT. I wasn't even completly decked out and I was sitting in the family section, so I didn't get beer thrown on me. But in the parking lot two guys threatened to kill me and if it wasn't for security I would have gotten into a fight with at least one of them.

From what I gathered from some Eagles folks, The Linc doesn't hold suites for players' wifes, familes, etc. They only hold one for the vistiting owner, if requested.
I was also told that the visiting team's families usually get pretty sweet tickets in the lower level (near the corners, I'm told) which is where more older, long-time season ticket holders are, rather than the miscreants that inhabited the 700 level. It's not like they put 'em in the upper deck, for chrissakes!
So I, for one, am not buying the "Culpepper should have known better" argument. Eagles fans are idiots, plain and simple. The blame goes there.

I swear this is at least 70% of why I hate the eagles so much. Being from Philly I identify with the passion eagles fans have for their team as my passion is likewise directed at my Cards, but I draw the line at physically assaulting people. The racial garbage is disgusting too. Sixers, Phillies and even Flyers fans don't act this bad.
LOL that doesnt mean anything. I have been there in full cards gear over a half a dozen times. The philly fans leave the cardinals fans alone out of pity. I get more "Aw shucks man, I hope you guys do well thsi year. I always root a little for the cards. Its just such a sad story man you've gotta pull for the" then any negative response. lol
Now where cowboys gear and try to survive!
Exactly swd! Although I have almost been involved in numerous scrapes, they generally leave non-rival fans alone. Even though we were NFC east combatants, we never were a threat to the eagles.

Why don't I strap a bulls-eye to the back of my head ?
