Question: Will the Cardinals continue to practice at their facility in Tempe? Or are they building a new one in Glendale?
I've often wondered over the years that by practicing outdoors in the desert heat all week...the Cardinals are spent when it comes to Sundays. Obviously it would be very beneficial to have an indoor facility built. Anybody know if they are or plan too? Thanks!

Ahhh...that's too bad. Maybe down the road they could convert one of the fields into an indoor one then. That heat just kills you. Thanks for the info!

In fact I believe they renewed a couple of years ago for like 10-20 years. The reason is that most of all the players live near that area. It takes them less than 15 minutes to get to work. The facility is a very good training and office complex. The fields are in awesome shape.
I always wondered why the D-backs needed a spring training facility as they all live in Phoenix and they have their stadium right there?
Somethings just are. I don't care where they office as long as they win!
That's weak. Upgraded facilities (practice fields, weight training, film rooms, etc.) would help attract players and improve the players already in our system more than the new stadium will.
if anyone of you have ever been on a tour of the facility you would know that it is a very nice building and they dont need (new) facilities to attract the players...the facilities they already have are very nice---i went on a tour during the offseason right after we drafted fitz...i got to meet freddie jones and walked by denny green sitting in his office (too bad he was on the phone though)
(practice fields, weight training, film rooms, etc.)
These items are fantastic..The weight room is state of the art. The l;ockers are huge., The individule film and meeting rooms with coaches and the main meeting room is top notch. There are two manicured full practice fields that have lighting so if it gets hot after Flagstaff you can have early morning or late afternoon practices.
The biggest item as a couple of us have said. almost all the players live in the ahwatuki(spelling) area. They all have homes. They can get to practice or the wieght room or treatment rooms in 15 minutes. That is not going to change for some time if ever.

You obviously haven't seen most NFL facilities (or top Division 1a facilities for that matter)... The Cardinals facilities are among the worst I've seen, with the exception of the condition of the fields...
Do you think they want to drive to Glendale 6 days a week ?
Do you know how many times they would have to sit in traffic and wait to turn left behind people that don’t creep into the intersection to turn left? They would have to sit there in their $200,000 cars and take nearly ½ hour to drive to work. That’s just insanity.
Seriously, how can you possibly feel sorry for these guys for having to drive 30 minutes to work?

Yeah, it's messed up that they play in Tucson, even though the players live in Phoenix. But I guess they figured that all the other teams in the Cactus League are away from home, so they should be too (also to get tourist dollars to Tucson.
(Completely OT rant, but the July Arizona Bar Exam is held in Tucson every year. Doesn't matter that 75% of the population of the state is in the Phoenix area, and probably a similar proportion of new attorneys will be in the Phoenix area and could drive to a Phoenix Bar Exam from their home. Nope, they have to force all of the candidates to drive down to Tucson to give the hotels some business during the slow summer months. It really pissed me off when my car's AC died during the trip down to Tucson).

Funny because according to most players and execs, its one of the best

That is what I've also heard. In fact when I was living in Minneapolis (sevaeral year ago) I visited the Viking facility in Winter Park. It really was dumpy. Red McCombs was so damn cheap that it was an embarassment.
Evil Ash I was just about to say that as well. The Cards facility which I've been too many times has been rated as one of the top ten training facilitys for NFL players in the league. Their state of the art whirlpools, cold treadmills and other components that make this a great place.
Now I have to admit I'm not an expert, nor have I seen other teams places of work. But if you won games based on your facility to train in and game plan on we would have already won the super bowl.
