Cap space

I keep hearing fans say we have a lot of money left to spend... do we?

If we the business model we have used in the years where we have been successful and actually spent our money, we will go into camp about 10 million under. The logic will be in case we need to sign someone due to injury. About week 4-6 we will give a long term extension to someone and use the 10 million of cap space to count the bonus against this year's cap. Let's hope/assume that we will save at least that much in the hopes that we can resign Fitz.

We gave Kolb a contract that will count at least 12 mil/year against the cap.

We have signed several other players with a cap hit of 1-5 mil/year.

I'm not seeing much left in the spending tank for right now... but I am not anywhere close to a cap expert.

My guess will be we sign one more player to a contract in the 2-5 mil/year range.

Havent done that since Dennis Green era. Besides last year of course every other year under Wiz we have been only 2-3 mill under the cap as the season started.

Good to know, Joe. You are definitely the person I'd listen to first about salary cap.

Besides, obviously I was wrong, we just signed Heap.
