I know I felt a twinge of Dallas love bleeding through from Troy last week, but it wasn’t so bad that I thought it was ridiculous.
And I seem to recall a couple of times in the past weathering Boomer Esiason’s unusually snide comments in regards to the Cardinals… but maybe I’m just biased.
But if Boomer was calling out Aikman for being overly-pro Dallas, doesn't that mean he feels the Cards weren't getting a fair shake in the broadcast? Wouldn't that make him more pro-Cards? Am I missing something?

Pot. Kettle. Black.
He has been one of the most vocal anti-Cards commentators of the past decade.

Probably more anti-Aikman. Esiason left on horrible terms here and has made his grudge against the F.O. abundantly clear.
Perhaps a little envy on his part that Aikman has three rings, played with one organization his entire career, and has a better broadcasting gig.

Not to mention that Aikman played on a NCAA National Championship team (although he was injured part of that year), was a college All-American, won the Davey O'Brien Award for the nation's top QB, was a Heisman runner-up, an overall #1 draft pick, won all three of his bowl games, and was elected to the NCAA Football Hall of Fame.
Meanwhile Boomer played at Maryland, was an honorable mention, and never won a bowl game.
After sitting in the stadium for the entire game, we went home and watched it AGAIN on TiVo.
The only thing I can point to at all was the feeling that Troy -- twice -- make comments of 'once the Cowboy's offense gets going you can't catch them' (when Dallas went up 14 - 7 in the third quarter) and something similar when Cowboys scored 10 points to tie and go into OT. It did imply that he thought the game was over.
Maybe that shows a little bias -- or his express opinion after watching all the Dallas games.
BUT he also, early on, pointed out at least 2 unfair penalties that seriously hurt the Cardinals. One was the turnover that somehow wasn't (not the tuck, but the first one) and the other was a blatant hold on our receiver that the official missed.
I do think he was rather startled when the game was over before the Dallas D even took the field in OT.

Maybe it does, but Dallas still has the second ranked NFL offense by yards per game and points per game. They are very prolific on offense, which makes the Cardinal defense's performance Sundayy even more impressive IMO.
I just thinking he was expressing the consensus opinion that the Cowboys can be scary good on offense when they aren't turning the ball over.

Troy is biased...as to be expected...I was at the game so I didn't hear him...but national press wasn't going to give us any love until we beat Dallas. Now that we have, when we keep winning the announcers will be better and we can expect some respect.
We better win vs. San Fran on MNF or it'll all die again.

To be fair, as a Cards fan, on both of those occasions I thought the game was over and that the Cowboys were going to win. And I hate the Cowboys. I don't take those comments as biased, or even necessarily inaccurate.
Oh, Aikman was definately biased. At the beginning of the broadcast, he said the only way the Cards could win was if they put pressure on Romo. Then pointed out how big the Dallas o-line was.
On that 3rd and 17 play, he said "they haven't converted a third down yet, and they probably won't now either."
Those are just 2 that I remember - there were more.

Great post... On top of Aikman referring to the Cowboys as "We" rather than "They" several times, he was pretty much pro-cowboys the entire game.
It's more than just a blatant bias, it's about the color commentary. Every single comment Troy made was either about what a proud franchise Dallas is, how good their o-line is, how great Romo is, or the reasons why they were clearly LOSING the game rather than why the Cardinals were WINNING the game.
It's ok though, the Cowboys are the NFL's most popular team, the Cardinals are probably one of the least popular.
If the Lakers are playing the Bobcats, I would expect the majority of the broadcast to focus on the Lakers.
Respect is earned not given, we'll get there eventually!
Word is, the star color commentator wasn't exactly tuned in to the new Cardinals or their story in the days leading up to Sunday's game. He was probably expecting the roll-over Cardinals who mainstream America had grown to ignore.
