I like my uncle's idea. If you injure another player intentionally or by way of an illegal hit you should be out for as long as he is out due to injury...

You know, at this point I don't really want to pony up much money for these guys at all. Q shouldn't get a huge contract offer. NOT that I'm bagging on him for the injury, but here we go again...Q injured and missing games again. Sorry Q, you don't rate a huge contract...a good one, yes, but not a huge one. Wilson? Sorry, now you can't stay healthy. No, you do not get an extension. DD? Not a chance in hell. Dansby? He should get a middle-of-the-road contract, nowhere near what he's making this season. Ugh.

Bad idea... as the possible result is that some third stringer goes and deliberately hurts a starter.
(This thought has been often mentioned in hockey, but, again, the result would be goons taking out superstars.)
