I like my uncle's idea. If you injure another player intentionally or by way of an illegal hit you should be out for as long as he is out due to injury...

You know, at this point I don't really want to pony up much money for these guys at all. Q shouldn't get a huge contract offer. Bad idea... as the possible result is that some third stringer goes and deliberately hurts a starter.

(This thought has been often mentioned in hockey, but, again, the result would be goons taking out superstars.)

But you can send a goon in to hurt a star player now anyway? I dont see how this makes a third stringer go out and hurt a starter. I like uncles idea.

This doesn't encourage goons to hurt superstars anymore than the current system does.

If anything it would encourage third stringers to fake injuries to take superstars off the court.
